Just downloaded the beta of Iambic Mail which supports HiRes+ on the Sony NR70. I have had a number of fatal alerts. First when i tried to read an excel attachment (I have Tiny Sheet installed) the others when I tried to use any of the options at the bottom of the screen when it was in 320 x 480 mode. Very buggy still it seems.

Hi,

Thanks for the posting.

Attachments received via synchronzation can be converted to FastWriter and TinySheet formats seemlessly and this is what that part of the manual is referring to.

Attachments can be received wirelessly but unless these are in a palm readable format (PRC or PDB) they can not currently be used on the palm itself other than to be attached to an email that is sent out.

Can you tell me exactly what steps to take to get the fatal errors you mentioned? I am using a NR70 in 320x480 mode and have not seen such errors.

I am getting the attachments via synchronisation. I have TinySHeet in ROM, don't know whether that makes a difference, but whenever I go to open an excel attachment, I can see it on the popup but when I try to select it for opening it just goes into Fatal Alert.

2. When I open the application there is a full screen and three functions at the bottom right of the screen. When I try to access either of the two at the extreme right of the screen, the clie just crashes (Fatal Alert - Fatal Exception) and needs a soft reset to get out of it.:(

I just tried again after reloading the software. Bottom of the screen. The connect/disconnect button. I touched this with the stylus and got the following message - MemoryMgr.c, Kine:4372 non-word-aligned handle.

The TinySheet conduit needs TinySheet to be in RAM in order to convert the spreadsheet from Excel format to TinySheet format. If you move TinySheet to RAM or install it to RAM then this problem will go away.

For #2 is this occurring in TinySheet or iambic Mail?

I suspect you may be referring to iambic Mail, if so is it installed in RAM? does it happen if installed in RAM? do you have a modem? note: these 3 buttons are for use with iambic Mail when using it in conjunction with a modem they are from left to right the account selector, connect/disconnect, and send/receive.

Yes it happens with Iambic Mail. Iambic Mail is in RAM. No I don't currently have a modem, but that aside, the crash happened when I ran my stylus across these buttons to see what functionality wa there. Could also easlly happen unintentionally.
