Hi,
we updated these forums to their latest version (3.5). As of now everything seems working as expected.
Please follow-up here if you notice any problem, or something is missing, or something doesn't work as it used to.

Hi,
thank you for your feedback. We are currently experimenting with advertisers and placements, therefore this might be a temporary situation depending on what kind of traction they generate.

This is a support forum for a product which is not very cheap. So you should really reduce the ammount of advertising.....
One banner would be OK... But not one banner in every posting.
If you want to read a thread with many entries it's quite hard to scroll through this ads...

Hi Merlin,
we reduced the amount of advertising to an ad every 2 to 3 posts. Hopefully this is now down to a more acceptable level.

Sorry, but I don't consider it "acceptable" to contaminate the contents-part of a user- and feedback-forum for several *commercial* software-products with ads.
I felt slightly deranged when I saw it this morning (and it didn't even work - the page kept loading and loading and never finished...).
Thanks to Adblock (http://adblock.mozdev.org/), my browser doesn't even try to load these ads anymore...
I guess I can live with this ugly blue bar saying "Shopping Ideas", but actions like that could kill a forum like this one! I would definitely stop participating in this forum if advertising gets more aggressive here.
The steps you make are just irritating by now, but the direction you seem to be going, scares me quite a lot. :sour:

I still think that these adds are on the wrong place. One or two banners at the top or the bottom of the page are OK.
But not within the threads!
Remember: This is a support forum for a commercial product which has lots of bugs at the moment!
Do you really think people could like adds in threads where they want to get a bugfix?

Hi All,
thanks again for your feedback, which we highly value.
Concerning the ads, they allow us to partially cover some of the ongoing operating expenses, which is why we are currently experimenting various approaches in their usage.

Thought I'd add my 2 cents here. I don't find the ads annoying or distracting. Understanding the commercial realities of running a company, if this helps Iambic keep software costs lower for me then I'm OK with it.

Hi All
Do these adds appear on the mobile site , i use my LD to check news on the forums and also seek information surfing the web with gprs, this is the only way adds may affect cost.
On the ADSL desktop pc we can understand business is important.
