View Full Version : Losing client projects

I recent purchased TimeReporter for use with Timeslips 10. We bill a relatively small number of clients for a larger number of cases. Each case gets billed separately, so we create slips for individual cases using the client name, separator, case name (project). The client list on the PDA shows the clients and projects exactly as in Timeslips, but after I create a slip for a project and Hotsync, the slip goes into Timeslips under the master client, not the project (case), and the slip itself only shows the master client, not the particular case. The TimeReporter manual (p. 15) seems to indicate that TimeReporter should handle the client-separator-project format appropriately, so I'm not sure why the projects are vanishing on me.

Does anyone know if a possible reason might be that we don't use a period as our client-project separator, but an open parentheses symbol? The manual notes that the separator is "typically" a period, but doesn't say it must be (and Timeslips allows any character). Has anyone else encountered this? If I am to use this product, I need to get our slips to save to the specified project. Thanks.
