View Full Version : Great job? Issue: Task colors not working on

On most of the task views, including matrix, list, expanded list, etc., the item colors are not working.
The option to select different colors for the different categories still works. It also works fine in the calendar view, but when you go to the task view, all of the tasks no longer have the correct background color (based on what the user has established for the specific task category.
Overall, nice update.

Background colors have been replaced with the colored category rectangle.

Background colors have been replaced with the colored category rectangle.I'm not real sure I like that better. Yeah, it might look a little more "business professional," but I kind of like the different color rows. Any chance to make that treatment selectable?

I understand. I will add it to the Feature list. Can't promise it will be changed though.

In PDE, I miss it the most in contacts. Those rectangles are so small as to be useless in quickly identifying categories by colors.

So where did this requirement come from? It seems as if the majority of comments I've seen so far have been negative towards this change.

I wouldn't call it a requirement, but a change to previous versions.
The change was an internal one based on the overall appearance factor in AGW.
As with all changes, some people won't like them. I don't think the "majority" have spoken.
However, we respect all comments and that's what the beta period is for. During the beta period and once all the beta testing is over we will review the comments and consider any changes that we feel would improve customer satisfaction as a whole.
Thanks again.

I was referring to the majority of UI comments in the Beta forum not speaking on behalf of the "majority" of the users. I will accept your argument though that it does not represent the majority of Agendus users.
This change on overall appearance had to be driven by something, right? Was it customer input, amalgamation of customer feedback, focus groups, look and feel steering team, or development team saying "hey this would look cool if...".
It appears as if this product evolves with minimal customer input up front prior to releasing for public Beta. That, of course, is only my perception which could be completely wrong and hopefully customer satisfaction as a whole is positve however you measure it.

Thanks for the feedback. The UI changes were a combination of user requests and internal opinion.
In addition to this forum, many of our FRs come via our Customer Service tickets. So they may not necessarily be seen here.

Hi Resa,
I hate to admit this:)) but this new way of color coding various items is growing on me. I have found that if I match the font color to the category color (not perfect but good enough), it works very well.
But I definitely agree with you about the color squares being useless in the contacts screen. I think if we could change the font color, it would be more useful but I am trying to be realistic.
Anyway, I guess my post is still an endorsement for making this feature an option since I would keep the squares in the task areas but probably use the ledger coloring elsewhere.

Hi Vivian,
I think the new look is *definitely* easier on the eyes - no quibble there!
But, in contacts - I hate the small rectangles of color, and really think it nullifies the point of colorizing categories. Colored text might be a work around, if it were available.
