Install was successful, however, same problem as with last version. I do not see any Agendus folders or options available.

Can you please verify the version in Help-->About Agendus?

That is the dilemma.
I see no trace of Agendus from within Outlook and when trying to add C:\Program Files\iambic Software\Agendus for Windows Outlook Edition\agwoe.dll manually through the option you mention Outlook will allow me to browse to the file but when I select it will not appear in the list of available add-ins.
Also that file is dated 3/21 and has a version of 4.0.0.1376.
Also, check the COM Addin
Tools-->Options-->Other-->Advanced Options-->COM Addins

Please see if you have Agendus.log file in C:\Program Files\iambic Software\Agendus for Windows Outlook Edition folder. If yuo do, attach it so we could see if there is some useful info about the problem.

Do you mean the Agendus toolbar? I had the same issue with the last version. Exit Outlook and go to task manager. Go to processes and if you see Outlook still on there, i'd stop the process. Once finished, i'd open outlook again and the toolbar should be up. If you have any widgets on your computer that use Outlook, i'd have outlook open on startup so the toolbar always appears.
At least, i hope that's the issue you're having :)

In Outlook, please try going to Help-->About Outlook-->Disabled Items.
See if the Agendus plug-in is listed. If it is, click on it once, then click the Enable button.

Don't know if you are developing with Visual Studio 2005 or not but here is a documented problem with addins created with VS2005 running in the .Net 2.0 framework.

Are there any possible registry "tweaks" that would prevent Outlook from loading add-ins?

Hello everyone. One of the engineers has discovered a possible cause for this issue.
1. Go to Control Panel -> Administrative tools -> Services
2. In list of services you should find DCOM Service Process Launcher
3. Look the Status column for this service
4. If it says anything other than Started, right click and choose Start
If it already shows "Started," please report back because that would mean this is not the problem.
Thanks.

I asked this earlier in the thread, and you said you didn't believe so....
In Outlook, go to Tools-->Options-->Other-->Advanced Options-->COM Addins.
Other than AGW, what else is listed there?
sdunnin
April 10th, 2006, 01:14 PM
Nothing appears in the COM Add-Ins window. And as I mentioned if I try to manually add the agendus dll it still will not appear in the list. Weird...that's why I was wondering if there is some sort of registry setting that might block the loading of com add ins.
That is the dilemma.

sdunnin,
not sure if this has been suggested already, from skimming this thread doesn't look like.
Could you please try the following:
1. close outlook and make sure via task manager that is really closed. If you still see the .exe in memory kill it.
2. bring up the command prompt windows
3. at the command prompt type:
regsvr32 C:\Program Files\iambic Software\Agendus for Windows Outlook Edition\agwoe.dll
then press enter
4. what message you get at that point?
Thanks,
- Adriano

Hi sdunnin,
Some additional questions:
1. Are connected to Exchange?
2. If so, cached or not cached?
Depending on your answer will determine my next step for you to try.

Ok. Try this now.
1. Create a new Outlook profile (this is a temporary step)
a. Close Outlook
b. Go to Control Panel-->Mail
c. Click on Show Profiles
d. Click Add & Name it
e. Add New Email account
f. Select POP or IMAP (hopefully you have a POP3 or IMAP account you can use. If not I'll send you a Gmail invite)
g. Complete the email account server info
h. Click on Finish
i. You should not be back at the Profile list dialog
j. Under "When Starting Outlook, use this profile, select "Always Use This Profile"
k. From the drop-down list select the new profile you just created
2. Open Outlook. Does the toolbar appear? If Yes, continue. If No, let me know.
3. Close Outlook again
4. Go back to Control Panel-->Mail-->Show Profiles
5. Change the default back to your Exchange profile
6. Close
7. Reopen Outlook

After creating a temp POP profile in Outlook (step 1) and restarting with that as the default profile the Agendus toolbar is still nowhere to be found.

I did an uninstall and then reinstalled from the 4.0 trial version installer and I now see a toolbar and agendus folders.
I wish I could say what the magic was since I had tried a complete reinstall previously during the Beta period.
Anyway, seems to be working now :)

That's great news! Not just "good news."
I'm happy to hear that it mysteriously reappeared. Please note anything steps that may reproduce it for you in the future.
If it does, please immediately attach your Agendus.log here.
Thanks for letting us know.
