Contact History Bug b1376

Hi there

in looking up the Contact History, i found items assigned to another contact in there too....

"Dale McGrath" is the initial subject...yet in the results I have another for "MCG" which is a sporting venue.
The mcg sequence of letters is common to both these and perhaps this is a clue.

I have several contacts with the same name (individual familiy members).
Their contact history doesn't get mixed up.

In your screen shot I can't see which events are for which contact...

When you are in the contact view, can you also see the wrong entries in the new contact history window at the bottom of the main window?

Ah, just saw another thread (http://support.iambic.com/forum/showthread.php?t=20549)which describes a problem that may be related to yours.

Looking at the screenshot, you'll notice that the contact history is for a specific person. Dale McGrath

Look at the very top listing there ~ it is for a specific event
Meeting ~ 24/3/2006 ~ Commonwealth Games Atheletics

Now turn your eyes to the bottom right of the screen to see that entry in the Weekly block view screen which is the background behind the contact history window. Notice the date [is the same] and that there is a different contact listed [the MCG].

So the bug relates to why this un related meeting has appeared in Dale McGrath's Contact History.

Breakthrough....Just as I've been looking I noticed that the number for the MCG is Dale's number.

So opening the edit meeting window, I selected the edit contact option [next to the name] and Dale's contact details have come up.

It seems that these have been automatically assigned.

So that solves the original problem.

The bug is now relating the the automatice assigning of a suggested contact without approval. To the point where it comes up in the suggested person's contact details.
