Palm Desktop editon.
If I have the contact list (in list mode) showing when I close (terminate) the program, when I restart the program the list is tripple spaced. If I click on another letter (to refresh the display) then the list returns to its proper single sapcing.

What do you mean with triple spaced? I also use the list mode and don't see anything unusual. Can you provide a screenshot?

Triple spaced, meaning there are two full (blank) returns after each name. For each line of text, there are two additional blank lines.

I have replicated this in the PDE beta build 1376. As soon as I click to another letter, it works properly.

Do you have photos attached to the contacts?
I remember having read about something similar concerning the task list in the today view (also a thread in this beta forum).

It doesn't happen here. Closing AGW with Contact views, list mode - when I reopen AGW, it opens correctly - no triple spacing.

What are your other view options when this happens? Are you seeing the Details Panel, Contact History? (I've tried all combinations, and it's still not happening here.)

How are your contacts sorted? Are you using any filtering or grouping?

Hi Serendip,

What are your other view options when this happens? Are you seeing the Details Panel, Contact History? (I've tried all combinations, and it's still not happening here.)

Just to be clear, I am using PDE. I have the Details Panel and the Contacts History open.

How are your contacts sorted? Are you using any filtering or grouping?

Sorted only by name, not using any filtering. Here are some example screenshots.

First, some dummy names I put in as it was faster than hazing everything out. This is how it works normally, and how it works once you have re-freshed the screen by clicking on another letter in the alphabet at the top:

2250

Here is how they look after you have closed the program with the view above as the last view:

2251

Like I've said, clicking away to another letter will fix the view, as will deleting a contact - it seems anything that forces Agendus to refresh the screen.

I set up PDE exactly as you have it, opening the Short cuts bar, viewing the tabs bar at top, and it still opens correctly.

I do *not* use any photos with any of my contacts, do you? If so, let me know, and I'll try adding some to see if that's what the trigger is.

My contact list is set up similar to ommaran's except I don't have the shortcut bar, I'm using a different theme and I am running windows 2000.

I installed the beta on a different windows 2000 machine and do not see the same triple spacing.

I think I have one photo in my contact list. The contact with the photo does not have to be on the list of those displayed to see the problem.

I've added photos, and still can't replicate getting the triple spacing. There must be some other setting that is causing it. I've tried masking or hiding private records, moving the categories - I can't get it to open triple-spaced.

And mine is a plain vanilla installation - I let the installer run, and haven't tweaked any options yet. (I just haven't had time!!! )

I have no photos. And as you will recall, those four examples were created specifically for the screenshot.

I can replicate it every single time.

Maybe we should start looking at some other things - I'm on a 1024x768 display. What about everyone else?

I'm using the same display. I moved the category bars as best I could to look like it does in your screen shots. It looks like you're using the default theme (I know it's a stretch, but...!) so switched to that, still opens correctly.

Do your contacts have categories and colors? Mine do.

I have some custom labels, am using the default font, display format is "last, first", not using wallpaper, webmap providor is Mapquest.

Yes to categories and colours. I suppose I am using the default theme. I have no idea who my webmap provider is... there's a webmap feature? Cool!:D

Does this happen with any of the other views that have list views? If you close in another view, so it's opening in that other view, when you switch to contacts for the first time, does it still triple space?

I'm trying everything here, and not getting the triple space. (I think it's to make up for me not getting my username on the same toolbar line - AGW spreads the issues! ;))

Hi,

I'm in Australia and loaded the Beta version on Friday. I'm having the same problem with the triple spacing, it goes away when another group is selected, but still a bit of a pain.

I made the following observations:
- In ommorans screenshots: the category column looks different in the 2nd screenshot, the category field is wraped on a 2nd line.
- There is a left-right scroll bar to scroll to the columns behind the category column. I can't reproduce it here on my computer - the columns are always getting resized and there is never a scrollbar.

When I started agendus today I noticed that the line spacing was different. Some of the lines had wide vertical spacing, some didn't.

I started experimenting with the width of the name and category columns and noticed different spacing results. A list with very short names and a wide category column was mostly correctly spaced, but the lines with the longest names still had extra vertical spaces.

Perhaps some uninitialized varibles or other error in the initial calculation of the space needed / available...

Hi there,

I wonder if this link is in any way related to the issues I have raised here...

I have the same effect in the outlook version. This is because one column width isn't wide enough
Do i group any field the view is correct.
