(there should be a question mark at the end of the title...)

I see "capture to agendus" on the new feature list but I have no idea how to use it. If I recall the v3 beta there were some instructions made available on how to use the new features.

As a user of Anagram (http://getanagram.com/) (a program I highly recommend), I was wondering if the new Agendus "Capture to Agendus" function worked the same way. In Anagram, no matter what program you are in, you can highlight the text, hit the control key sequence, and Anagram tries to determine what it is - memo, meeting, task. It also lets you re-scan it as something else if you get it wrong. Great, handy little program.

I was hoping that the Capture to Agendus feature was like that as well - that it was something that was available outside of Agendus itself, and could be used to capture things from Word, Outlook, webmail, whatever and place it in Agendus. Unfortunately, it seems to work only within Agendus. It would likely be most useful for adding a contact from the signature tag at the bottom of an e-mail, scanning text for an appointment time in an e-mail, etc. - basically, I think it is more for AWOE than for AWPD.

I'm still not seeing how to use the feature. Can you point me to a menu
item or help page?

thanks

In the Outlook Edition there is a Lasso icon in most views, labelled 'Capture text'. This allows the mail, task, event etc being viewed to be quickly added as a new memo, task or whatever. Try it and see.

IN palm Desktop edition you can right-click on selected text to get the same function.

A "capture clipboard contents" might make it a bit easier to move things from other programs. Not quite as flexible as Anagram was described but it would save a few steps.

Hmm... I don't see that, but I could just as easily be blind. I've highlighted an address in my contacts list, and have right clicked. At that point I see "Capture to Agendus" isn't greyed out at the bottom of the right-click menu.

I'm only trying this out myself. You're using PDE? If so, it seems to work in edit fields. i.e. open the contact and select the address text, then right-click.

In OEd, it's a toolbar icon.

Yes, in PDE. As I said, I'm sure it would be useful in Outlook, which has e-mail built in, and can capture text from e-mail across the various sections of Agendus. I haven't played with it enough to find a really good use in Agendus PDE, except perhaps some cases like text from a memo to a contact, etc.
