I'm a field sales person and I think this feature would increase your sales dramatically.

Is it possible to use this program to create journal entries that will be connected to contacts and past meeting calendar events? In other words, a journal entry for both the contact for that specific date (and time even) so that the meeting/telephone call notes can be accessed either through the contacts themselves, or through the calendar meeting/event listings that have already happened.

This would have to sync with Microsoft Outlook so that one could access a contact's journal entries for meetings that have already occurred to remember what happened at the meeting, topics discussed etc.

To save space in th Palm the user would be able to dictate for how long the Palm device would retain/sync these journal notes. For instance you could set it to sync/save journal entries for up to one month, or the user could allocate a certain amount of memory for the journal entries so that they effectively drop off the back end in FIFO mode depending upon available memory... so older journal entries would get bumped out by newer entries etc., smaler journal notes would allow for a greater number of journal entries etc...

This is the reason many people have a Palmn device also!!!!!!

You have to check the new Contact History feature in AN 5.0 :D

It's an history of all events related to a contact. EVEN the emails your received from that contact !!

Hi Glenno,

Yeah, that would be extremely powerful.

In Action Names you can link your meetings, calls, todos and emails to contacts, and add notes to the meeting entries themselves. Then using the Contact History for example you can access all the meetings, etc. that are on the Palm for a contact.

Action Names can keep a "daily journal" but it is not linked to contacts.

So you can do some of this.....

The # of old entries maintained on the Palm (and the space occupied) is determined by whatever sync'ing software you are currently using to transfer data from Outlook to the Palm. Action Names has no control of this.

I dont use Outlook, but what I have seen, the Journal feature in Outlook is pretty powerful. Action Names doesnt have a direct equivalent to that or a conduit to sync Outlook Journals to the Palm.
