I have a palm IIIe and time reporter for time slips , all seems to be working but several things dont want to work . I want to use the "reference " option for sorting , the data loads into my palm and I can select it when creating a client but it does not sync back to the pc and populate the slip on time slips . Also the "expense " screen does not display the default price for an expense that I entered on the pc , is this data transferred to the palm and has the problem been corrected on a later version of timerepoter ? chris

Hello Chris,
For the reference issue: Just to make sure I follow you correctly, I think you are saying that you create a new client on your handheld and associate a reference to it, but the client and reference do not appear in TimeSlips? If I am mistaken please explain a little further for me.
Otherwise, let me explain a little better how TimeReporter for TimeSlips works. Only slips that are created in TimeReporter will transfer over to TimeSlips. Any Clients, Tasks, or References that you create in TimeReporter (and any slips associated with them) will not sync to TimeSlips. They must be created in TimeSlips first, then synced down to the handheld. The reason we allow the option for you to create a Client (or task or reference) is so that if you are away from your desktop you can still create the entry. When you get back, you can then update TimeSlips with the new Client and then sync to transfer over your entries. I hope this explains the process a little better.
The Expense List in TimeReporter for TimeSlips does not currently include the feature to have a default price. We may be able to implement this functionality in a future release.
Please let me know if your first question was answered.
Thank you,

Yes , all the conduits associated with task and expense are working great with my palm IIIe and time slips 10.1 express . When I created the "References " on the desktop and sync them to the palm they display where they are supposed to and let me select them when creating a slip on the palm , however they do not seem to be transferring during hotsync back to the desktop and popuating a slip allthough all other data is transferring fine the reference seems to be getting forgotton because does not even genorate a hotsync log alert on the palm desktop software . Should I reload all the software and see if it works or is it not a part of the version 3.3 I purchased ?
Default Values for Expense;
Yes in fact having the default vaues for expenses display on the palm would be a help along with having the curser start at the expense catigory , when this is selected the default amount appears and of course it can be changed for this slip . chris

Hi,
What is "time slips 10.1 express?" I am familiar with 10.1 and 10.5, etc. not an "express" version.... Do you mean the "10.1 remote version"? FYI, there is now a Timeslips 10.5...
You mention that you are using TimeReporter 3.3. I think the latest version is 3.31 according to http://my.iambic.com/ProductLine.asp. Is this the version you have?

hi antigravity
I guess there may be an upgrade available if i have Time Reporter for Time Slips Deluxe Version 3.3 ( I got it at TimeSlips.com ) , there is nothing after the 3.3 . Does the newer version have the addional conduits ? As for my Time Slips Express version 10.1 , It is a simplified version of 10.1 standard excluding a bunch of reports and options and is much more simplified software that gets the billing and tracking job done for a real small business . I just don't need all the "bells and wistles " of even a standard version for my small business . chris

TimeReporter for TimeSlips will work with TimeSlips Express and you do not have to have the latest version in order to get this to work. But, with any software you should always use the latest version. On mine, if I go to menu|options|about on my IIIc, then it shows version 3.31 build 137. I downloaded it from http://www.iambic.com/english/palmos/timereporterfortimeslips/downloadfile.html and am pretty sure it is the latest version.
Also, I have found with mine that turning on the Extra Bug tracking for the hotsync.log helps. It puts more information in the log and I can see better what is going on. I think there is a check box for this in Start|Programs|TimeReporter for TimeSlips|Hotsync Controls|About tab.
