I can't launch the 30-day trial version. No matter if Ichoose Outlook or Palm Desktop as my default application I always get the error message: "Cannot launch UserData.dll". Any suggestions?

Which HotSync version you are using? Version 3.1 is required. If it still doesn't work, try to upgrade to version 4.1. Upgrade is free, and you can download it from Palm.com

I'm using Hotsync manager 4.1 at present.
Any more ideas?

Agendus reports about "Cannot launch UserData.dll" error only when UserData.dll library has incomplete set of functions. Please try to reinstall Palm Desktop - I suspect that some third-party application could replace that file on your PC with the old version.

I got almost the same problem. I've installed the registered version, and whenever I try to run Agendus, I get to the point where I am asked which PIM I'm using. Once I've selected Palm Desktop and do proceed, Agendus claims that Hotsync is not running (which it is), and next I get an error message regarding HSAPI.DLL. Afterwards the program terminates. :bulb:

Same for HSAPI.DLL - please try to reinstall Palm Desktop.

Sorry to tell you, but your suggested solution did not work at all. I explicitly downloaded the latest Palm Desktop (4.1), did a complete reinstall of both PD and Agendus - same error appears...

I'm having a problem running Agendus. After installation when I run the app, it aborts immediately after I select the sync app (PalmDesktop)

Same for me. I am using the Handspring Version of the Palm Desktop (v.4.0.1) and their HotSync Manager (3.1H2). I re-installed that - but no improvement here.

BTW: which UserData.dll is the one that's preventing Agendus from starting? The one in my Palm-Directory or the one in the Agendus-Directory?

I had the same problem (could not launch the trial version - userdata.dll error message).

After resetting the data directory to the default one (c:\palm) the problem is now gone. It is possible to change the data directory using the palm desktop (menu item: extras/options).

It seems agendus windows is programmed to search for userdata.dll only in the default directory. This must be fixed soon.

Iambic staff: the data dir is stored in the registry:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\U.S. Robotics\Pilot Desktop\Core\Path

After changing the data dir again now I have the problem back (although there is a userdata.dll file in the default data dir c:\palm). So I believe the error message is misleading. What Agendus does not find seems to be the file users.dat.

Copy the UserData.dll from the agendus directory into the palm directory (overwriting) the original.
Cures the UserData issue.

Sorry, but copying the UserData.dll from the agendus directory into the palm directory (overwriting) the original does not solve the problem (at least on my pc [win98]).

Hi,

Everyone who have or had UserData.dll problem. Please attach to the forum UserData.dll file located in C:\Palm (NOT IN THE AGENDUS INSTALL DIRECTORY) on your PC. If you have already replaced it with that one from Agendus install directory, please manually delete UserData.dll one in C:\Palm and then reinstall PalmDestop and only then attach. I need to do some very important investigations with this file for that to prevent any future occurence of this problem for you or for anyone else.

Everyone who have or had HSAPI.DLL problem plese do exactly same as above but now with HSAPI.DLL.

Thanks,
Sergiy

Here is my userdata.dll - which BTW is NOT stored in c:\Palm. I´ve changed my palm directory to a different location.

I do not see UsetData.dll file attached to your post :( . Perhaps you forgot to attach it or some problem with forum settings (I'll contact our administrator to figure it out). Meantime, could you please send your UserData.dll via email? My email is sergiy@iambic.com

Thanks,
Sergiy

Here is the palm UserData.dll file, renamed "UserData.txt" for sending.

Figured out and fixed problem with both UserData.dll and HSAPI.DLL. Please wait for the next Agendus build that will be awailable soon and let me know how it works for you.

Sincerely your, Sergiy

Hi Sergiy
Will the new build be announced somehow? Or will it be a release 1.01 or something in the likes? I've already registered Agendus Win, will I get an email notice when the build is released? Lot's of questions, but I'd love to finally see the program I've bought!
;)

Michael

Agendus has update auto-detect feature. By default it is turned of. When only new release will be available you'll receive notification about it from Agendus itself, on startup.

Of course it would help very much to run Agendus to do so. Which it does not. Which this thread is all about... ;)

So again my question: is there a way for us to find out about the new build?

Regards - Michael

I am experiencing the EXACT problem that "Ou_Bouet" outlined in their post on 10-24-2002 09:52 PM. My log lists the same errors after loading the Palm Desktop Data.

***
End of loading Palm Desktop data [result=1].
Error: [on loading serialized bitmap] header size is incorrect (expected size = 40, actual size = 0).
Error: Icons searialization error. Cannot serialize [mode: load] icon entry 2.
Error: An error occurred on loading icons (CArchiveException).
Error: Cannot load data on startup.
***

I couldn't see that the problem was ever addressed.

Any help would be great.
