Is there any way That I can combine the contact list from Outlook 2000 and Palm Desktop so all of my contacts can be accessed from Agendus on the palm??

Even better, can Agendus for Windows sync directly to Agendus Palm? Thereby achieving the above results. or does it sync only through Palm Desktop?

Thanks, Travellerr

I still have no contacts..

How can I import/sync my outlook contacts in agendus for palm, using agendus for win?

If you want to import/export contacts, or any other data between Palm Desktop and Outlook just copy it in the clipboard, switch data source (see Preferences -> Data Source tab), and paste your data in desired data source/user profile.

However, in your case, it is most probably better to keep all your data in the Outlook by using Outlook conduits (they are usually bundled with all Palm-compatible devices). Like that you can use Agendus for Windows with Outlook as your data source without need to import/export data manually.

Apparently, the major problem is that Agendus for Windows is *not* sycnhing with the Handheld when Outlook is the Datasource. I have created a new memo in Agendus for Windows as well as a new contact, and neither got transferred to the PDA. In HotSync manager I set the desktop to overide the PDA, and it still would not transfer data. On top of everything, I have both Agendus for Windows and Agendus for Palm.

Any ideas??

In order to sync your Palm PIM data with Outlook you need a conduit to Outlook installed. Such as one from PocketMirror that comes with most Palms or CompanionLink or Intellisync.

If you are synchronizing to Outlook then you should pick Outlook as your Datasource in Agendus for Windows.

If you are synchronizing to Palm Desktop then you should be Palm Desktop as your Datasource in Agendus for Windows.

Note: Agendus for Windows does NOT contain conduits to Outlook itself, but if you have installed them then it can take advantage of this fact when you set the Agendus for Windows datasource to Outlook.

So, in other words, Agendus for Windows is simply a different view of either Outlook, or Palm Desktop, but, has nothing to do with the PDA. I thought that Agendus for Windows synced with Agendus for Palm. I have to admit that I am beginning to wonder why I purchased it since it does do not do what I had expected it to do :(

Hi,

Well not only can it show data stored in Outlook which is useful if you sync to Outlook, or data stored in Palm Desktop which is useful if you sync to Palm Desktop but it also includes a conduit that synchronizes the icons and alarms. Also it supports the contact linking functionality, repeat and redo to dos and calls, icons on events, contact grouping, contact history and the views that are all popular features that are unique to Agendus on the Palm and PC.

I currently use my Palm Vx with Agendus 5.22
and the Pocketmirror conduit to Outlook 98

Does this mean that when I hotsync:
1) info that I have added to my Palm will be added into both Outlook and Agendus Windows?

2) info that I have added to Agendus Windows will be added to my Palm and to Outlook

3) info that I have added to Outlook will be added to my Palm and Agendus Windows

If it does these 3 things I am buying it!

Looking forward to your reply,
Matt

Yes, everything what you are asking about Agendus for Windows can do.

Hi

I'm very happy with your solution and I'm working with Outlook 2000. But I encountered small problems regarding the synchronisation. I'm using a registered version of Pocket Mirror to do the sync with Outlook.

1. PocketMirror offers to read the information in the field "location" of Outlook and to implement it on the palm as additional text behind your meeting. It also offers you the option to choose the form of the brackets for the location. And now the problem: It collieds with the functionality of Agendus, when you want to add a contact to a meeting, because it's also appended. We tried everything (choosing different brackets, adding spaces, etc.) but it worked never properly. Finally I don't think this should be a big issue to correct because Agendus just forgets to recognize the ending bracket.... ;-)

2. Isn't it possible to use the "contact" information in Outlook to store the information about the contact instead of appending it in the subject?

But beside of these points I'm really happy with your software, altough I'm just testing it for the second day :-)

Cheers,

beeAge

P.S.: You see the location option of Pocket Mirror on the pic in the attachment.

I'm not positive, but I seem to remember desktop to go can work-around the brackets issue --you'd have to verify with Dataviz to be sure. I think it modifies the location delimeter when it sees the agendus brackets etc.

I don't think the problem is PocketMirror because my problem is seen in Agendus where you see the location in the contact field of the meeting... ;-) PocketMirror doesn't confuse it. But thanks anyway!
