Please find below my feedback concerning the latest build on a Palm Treo 750v. I should note that although some of these comments have been raised previously they are still not shown in the 'Known Issues' section of the latest build announcement.
Issues
Press & hold on the D-Pad does not bring up the menu in the Contacts or Tasks views.
Scrolling with the D-Pad does not cover the full length of the 'Today' screen, it only highlights agenda & task items.
The text is way too big for the small screen of a Treo e.g. The contacts list only shows two or three entries. It would be nice for this to be user adjustable.
The filter only does 'Begins with' and not a 'contains' e.g. It would be good if entering 'taxi' in the contacts filter returned both 'Top Taxi' and 'Taxi Cabs' as opposed to current implementation which would just return 'Taxi Cabs'.
The Categories selection dialog is very hard to use on a device like a Treo. It would be nice to see the list of available categories first, the typing 'pe' would go to the category called 'Personal', which could then be selected by pressing select on the d-pad, then typing and/or scrolling further to select more applicable categories. Currently typing values such as 'pe' causes new false categories to be created, this does not make sense in a world of type-ahead, predictive text, etc.
The list of available categories is too small on the Treo's screen.
Currently the week and month calendar views are not very usable on a Treo as it does not show any readable details. A split screen view of the month in the top and a list view showing the details for the selected day would be very useful (PocketInformant has a view similar to this).
The 'General' Task Item form looks very crowded and complicated on the small screen of a Treo. It might be worth considering placing items such as contact, picture and other advanced settings in separate tabs (more like a contact item form) and not using the rather complex sub-tab mechanism currently implemented in the 'general' tab. Comparing the WM form to the Palm version shows just how unattractive the WM version really is.
Setting a category for a Task is still not saved when exiting and relaunching Agendus.
Categories are still not brought over from Outlook.
Although existing Tasks show that there is a Note attached, viewing the note only shows the text '{\pwi'. New notes are stored correctly.
Scrolling down lines in a Note (attached to a Task) is not possible using the Dpad, instead when you press down focus is moved from the text box back to the tabs.
Features
A quick preview would be nice when selecting a contact item rather than instant edit mode e.g. Name & address like a business card similar to the OOB Palm OS Address Book (very useful to quickly show the taxi driver the address for the hotel).
Does Agendus not offer functionality to manage stand alone notes/memos.
RTF text would be very nice for all notes (bold, italic & lists)
It would be good if the 'Today' view was more configurable with regard to which items are shown and in which order.
Are check-lists supported for Task Notes like in the Palm version?
I should also note that I am looking forward to Agendus becoming a usable application on WM (once the Categories and Notes are synced with Outlook and saved it will be usable for me).
