After much fustration (over 2 years) with Franklin Covey Software and spending 6 hours tonight trying to recoup data, I am making the leap. Have started playing around with agendus.

Question: For those of you familiar with Franklin, how might I create a Daily Record of Events and an index.

Would also possible like to start a string of folks familiar with the system and how to incorporate it into agendus.

Which by the way guys you have done an excellent job.

thankyou

Hi,

I too had tried the Franklin Covey software and abandoned it. My setup took a while to arrive at, but it works and I am happy with it.

I use Agendus in conjunction with several other programs to achieve a "7 Habits" planner. These programs are Today, Bonsai, ToDoRoll, TimeMax, Titrax, QuickWord, Natara Project, and PalmReader

Today is my start-up screen. It gives a quick overview of the day, and you can quickly launch other applications from it including Agendus.

I use a program called Bonsai that is essentially an outliner to keep my mission statements, roles and goals. Bonsai allows you to create a topic and then build a tree/outline underneath it. A great feature is that you can create to-dos from items in a tree. So, I can create a tree/outline for one of my roles, containing goals for that role. I can then easily map any of my goals for that role to a todo that I can see in Agendus. Bonsai also has a desktop application, and in fact it will appear as a shortcut within the Agendus desktop app.

In Agendus I have assigned my roles to the categories (i.e. Sharpen the Saw, Husband, Planner .....). I use the priorities in Agendus to assign the Franklin-Covey "Quadrant". I have also created an icon set that incorporates elements of the Franklin-Covey planner which I use for to-dos and appointments. Since I am using Agendus' priorities to map to the FC Quadrants, I can use the Icons to represent priorities within those quadrants. you I can then sort Agendus in multiple ways, including sorting on priority and then by icon. As for the Daily Record of Events (DRE), I simply use the Journaling feature in Agendus.

I use ToDoRoll to automatically forward uncompleted ToDo items from the previous day.

I use QuickOffice (Quickword specifically) to keep various MS Word documents including my mission statements.

I use TimeMax weekly to review my week and determine how much time I spend in each quadrant. It is obvious that TimeMax is based on Covey's 7 Habits material since your time is mapped against a 4 quadrant urgency-importance matrix.

Titrax can achieve much of what Time Max does. It is a tool for keeping track of the time you spend on activities.

I use Natara Project for more detailed planning. This program is used for managing projects and it sync's up with MS Project.

I use PalmReader for ebooks. Several Covey books are available in ebook format. The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, First Things First, Principle Centered Leadership, and Living the 7 Habits.

The programs that I use to execute the 7 Habits planner I have mapped to the Palm application buttons.

I hope this helps. All of these programs can be found at palmgear.com and/or handango.com.

Now that there is an Agendus desktop application, things work better than ever.
