I'm trying to find the device ID for Vehicle Manager on my Windows PC (not Pocket PC). There is no option for device ID on the about screen.

I have the same problem here  Plus when I try to install the ppc version on my PDA it says "VehicleMgr is not a valid pocket pc application":)
Lets hope someone finds a solution.

On a whim, I tried the code that was embedded in the e-mail I received from iambic. It ended in "FREEUPG". It worked as the registration code.

Hi Metsfan.

Thanks for the information - it worked!
Now I just need to install the program on my PDA.

You might want to try uninstalling the old version first. I noticed the new version doesn't do that. Then, when I uninstalled the old version, it took the new version with it so I had to reinstall. But, all is working now.

metsfan,

I believe you hit the problem on the spot -- the previous version doesn't get overwritten and therefore this can cause some confusion.

When uninstalling the previous version make sure that your vehicles .dat file is in a safe location to avoid it getting deleted.

I'm still having problems with the software on my PDA (HP iPAQ 4150). Everything installs OK - but when I try to start the App. it says: 'VehicleMgr' is not a valid Pocket PC application.

Any Ideas what the problem is?

CtrlAltDel (awesome nickname btw),

the reason why you are getting that message is because the title you are trying to install requires windows mobile 5 or above.

See here (http://support.iambic.com/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=248) for details.

My guess is you have the same problem I have. Iambic has me down for purchasing a PPC (Pocket PC) version of the Two Peak Vehicle Manager, when in reality I purchased a WM (Windows Mobile) version.

Double check the download link they sent you. The activation code and download link they sent you is probably for the PPC version. I downloaded the correct WM version, but the activation code is only for the PPC version and won't work for the WM version.

I'm trying to get Iambic to fix the problem, but other than this forum, I can't contact anybody.

CGeurin,
Is it true that if you follow the link in the email the item in the pre-populated list is VM for PPC? If so, please send me a Private Message providing me with your email which we have on file.
