I know this was technically of my own doing, but the email upgrade I received didn't say that the software was only compatible with WM5.
I think it should have said it.
Since practically 100% of the software out there is WM2003SE compatible, I just assumed.
Yes, I understand.
Well, my AS is hosed.
I uninstalled it, rebooted, reinstalled both versions 3.8 and 4.2, and neither will sync with my PPC now.
Something is corrupted that isn't fixed by uninstalling and reinstalling AS.
I'll be on tech support for my PPC forever tonight, and ultimately will probably need to call MS to get this fixed.
I'm posting this so that other users that haven't upgraded their WM2003SE devices to WM5 yet don't run into the problems I have.

If the devs have any other thoughts on specific files/folders on my PC, other than uninstalling PVM 3 and reinstalling the older Two Peaks PVM, I would really appreciate it.
If it's impossible for a WM5 install on a WM2003SE device to hose AS, then I apologize, but that's the last thing I did before it stopped syncing.

I am able to sync again.
Your installation hosed AS on my PPC.
Uninstalling and reinstalling AS on your PC will not fix the sync problem.
It required a hard-reset of my PPC and restore of a backup from before the PVM installation.

I had the same issue, but was able to fix it without a hard reset, but I came very close.
After the install of version 3.3 and then removing it, there was a key left behind in the registry that had to be deleted.
It was "HKLM\Windows CE Services\Synchronization\Objects\PVM"
The key was empty and would cause AS to start and then fail.
Deleting the key and doing a soft reset fixed the problem.

I'm also upset that there was no mention of WM5 being required in either the email I received or the download page. This should have been prominently displayed on the download page, as most of the Two Peaks users would probably be running WM2003.

I'm sure future visitors will appreciate the tip.
Not having necessary information on the download is a little irresponsible.
I'm sure the forum traffic will increase as users try to upgrade.

Unfortunately, I spent about 3 hours trying to get it working before I just threw my hands up and hard-reset.
I'm lucky I have backup programs scheduled to run every night.
