I downloaded Propel into my 650 several weeks ago, and then spent a week trying to keep my 650 from constantly rebooting and crashing. This software is unstable, is a memory pig, and offers very little that agendus doesn't already do. I'm not sure I see the reason why the software exists..... It caused my treo to become seriously unstable and hogged all the remaining memory without seeming to add any benefits..... Am I the only one having problems with this? I removed it and things ran much better immediately.

Oh no........ :( I'm sorry to hear that. Perhaps someone at iambic or on the iambic Forums Team can straighten-out the problem. I'd be shocked and amazed if Propel was totally defective. There may be something "they" can do.

Hi,
can you give any more info on what happened? For example what error message did you see?

Propel is generally very stable and uses much less memory than other popular launchers.

Jmaddocks,

just to reiterate a bit on what Confused Vorlon mentioned -- we'd appreciate if you could share with us a few more tidbits of info as of how you traced your Treo instability to Propel.

In regards to the "memory hog" part -- it might get larger if you install additional skins, but with a no skin install is about 600Kb. Seems a fairly small footprint, especially nowadays.

Btw I'm using it on my 680 with no problem at all, but that's just me -- things have their way of always working fine on my devices ;)

I have a Treo 650 and have one problem with the software. Every time I use Propel to launch a pdf file from the sd card using Documents to go it launches fine. When I close the document my Treo does a reset. This does not happen when I am not using Propel. Any suggetions?

Hi,
I can't check that directly as my docs to go won't open pdfs on my 650.
it sounds like it is most likely a problem with docs to go, or possibly a cache problem.

Propel is long gone by the time you get to closing your pdf - it just told docs to go the file location where it should load it.

I'm assuming here that you are using the latest propel - the provious one did have problems loading docs in the first place.

what error message do you get? (dial #*377 after a reset)

You said it is probably a problem with Documents To Go. Then why does it only happen when using Propel. When I close the document it is probably trying to re-start Propel when it does the reset. I am using the latest version, 1.2. I have tried the program Initiate which is what Propel is based on, and never have a problem. I prefer Propel because it is a much nicer looking interface.
