Feature request (that @#$%$ update apps button)

I detest that update apps button. I've accidentally tapped it a few times on my Lifedrive. I have quite a bit of music on my hard drive and the refresh seems to take 10 minutes. Frequently I just give up and do a soft reset.
How about a feature that disables the refresh button or allows the user to select the features on the toolbar? I'd rather refresh from the drop-down menu.

they get rid of all the buttons! Of course, everything is still available through the menu, or by tap&hold on an item.
