A Few Comments, Observations, and Feature Requests

Now that I have installed, configured, and ran Agendus through some paces, I made a few notes and thought I would post them here.

This post is not intended as a rant at all; simply saying what I have seen in the hope that maybe I have not set it up correctly, or if that is not the case then hopefully the developers will consider some of these items.

Online Features


Upon starting, there is a fairly long wait while the program is "initializing".


Online items on Today page do not auto-update; I must tap on the "refresh" icon.


After manually updating Quote, History, & Weather, if I navigate away from the Today page & return, Quote & History are empty & must be refreshed again.


The D-Pad doesn't scroll to the Quote nor History line items; they cannot be highlighted - I can only refresh them by taking out my stylus & tapping the Refresh icon.


Icons


Memory problem when using add'l icon packs. (Already reported in another thread)


After selecting icons for Meeting Categories in Preferences, those icons do not appear in any view.


Contacts


Photos assigned to Contacts in Outlook 2003 show in the Contact edit screen but nowhere else. Same for photos assigned to Contacts within Agendus.


No alternate Contacts views. Eg, a one-line view that expands when selected, or a two line view. Nothing except the default "show-all" view. And most importantly, NO PICTURE VIEW! (Unless I just haven't found it yet.)


No ability to use Outlook's "File As" order. And after Agendas applies one of its own that order syncs to the PC & then messes up Outlook's Contact ordering.


Tasks


In the Palm & Windows versions of Agendus tasks are viewed in a Grid - a feature that has always set Agendus apart from all the rest; I love that view! So where is it in this version?


Feature Request: When showing undated tasks in any view, it would be great to have an option to have all undated tasks float to the top or the bottom of the list. I'd wager that your users are about equally split as to where they would prefer to see them.


Meeting/Calendar Views


I have not used these views enough to say much yet, except for no icons showing.


General Comments


Apparently Agendus cannot be assigned as the default PIM. That can cause some sync issues.


In some views where you can select an icon (like the Task edit screen) if you had previously chosen an icon pack other than the default, the icons overfill the screen & the soft menu choices of ''Done" and ''Cancel" do not respond so there is no way out except to tap the X and dose Agendus.

We are aware of these. The update feature was tweaked recently because some users where experiencing problems. I have, in a different thread, requested that we have options regard the update feature for those of us especially with a phone device. I suggested that we have a update interval, and or schedule along with update upon opening and active sync. There was, before, an update upon opening but it produced a problem if that device was not connected so it was take off. I can't speak for the developers but I know there will probably be more work in this area.

Icons

The first issue, as you know, is being worked on. The second issue is also being worked on but let me confirm. I believe you are referring to the fact that new icons for categories aren't being applied to existing appointments. Am I correct? If this is true, we have this also reported.

I don't have Outlook 2003 boohoo. Perhaps those with this can confirm for me on the photos appearing. I would imagine this is due to the problems reported with photos in the past. Currently they are not working and we are aware of that.

The ability to see contacts and appointments with a multi line view has been requested

I know you had the file as request in a different post. After I am done responding, I will make sure these get put in the requests forum.

I love the grid as well and second this. I know that I have asked for the matrix view and I believe this is something they will introduce eventually. Michael can confirm. For now it doesn't exist in the WM version.

I love the task suggestion. I would love to see that too. I will forward these requests.

When you say no icons, you mean the issue with creating a category icon and it not applying to existing appointments right? I suggested to a user to move items in that category to recycle in outlook and then move them back out and it seem to reset the appointments as new and then the category icons appear. Don't know if you want to give that a try.

Default Pim is a big request by all. The developers are aware.
