Might be a good idea to remove the words "group by" in tasks and contacts grouping button since they aren't necessary information.

I personally find the "group by" in the contacts view very important in some cases...
For example, if one of my customers is looking for somebody that can provide X service in their area, I can quickly group contacts by city and presto - I can retrieve the information very quickly for them.
In tasks, it's a pretty big deal to be able to sort by due date, priority, etc.
Do you think the "group by" button is just taking up space, or you just don't like the feature?

Am I misunderstanding you? Why do you feel these are not necessary?

I am not saying remove grouping. What I am saying is remove the text that says "group by".
Currently, when you hit the group dropdown you see
Group by Name
Group by Company
Instead when you tap the dropdown you see just the group's label:
Name
Company
I use a lot of software and one good example of this is Pocketbreeze. The category filters are just that, a name.
I hope this helps.

 Well, that makes a bit more sense now :p
The "group by" text doesn't bother me much, so keeping it or removing it would be all the same to me :D

Personally, I think those labels are good just the way they are. The room is enough for the whole phrase and having it all surely helps some users :)

Hi Handhell! :D
On the square screen the grouping button is too small to contain those words. They are running off of the button (or truncated) on my screen so that is why I suggested they just remove them.
I don't mind them so much either, it was just a suggestion.
Personally, I am biased user because I know that having the dropdown display just the group name is transparent. However, I do see your point if we are referring to a novice user. As I said, Pocketbreeze and other softwares don't do it this way and it doesn't seem to confuse people. I guess I am thinking if someone has been using Pocket pc they are going to understand this from seeing it before.
However, one of the great things about Agendus is that it strives to do things transparently. So if the consensus is to keep the words then that certainly doesn't bother me. I am just wondering how the development will get those to fit into the button adequately without either having to make a bigger button or smaller font for the text. Personally, I am not fond of a smaller font. It gets too hard to see.

Hi :D
Ok, I think we both agree about the same facts and points ;)
Just one little (friendly) observation. Before posting I checked this in my Treo 700P (square screen) and everything showed fine. If I select (for example) Order by Company the row header changes for just "Company" (and so on). I think that's exactly what you are suggesting but it only appears to indicate the actual order. During the selection process we see the available options just the way you say.

Hi Handhell,:)
Let me show you my screen so I can show you what is happening on the WM screen. I am sure the developers can fix this easily.:)

Ok, now that REALLY helps :D
Sorry, I hadn't check that the WM edition DOES show the whole phrase ("Group by... ") on the row header. The PalmOS edition just does that while you are selecting the filter (to group by) after that the header changes showing only the selected filter (group) without the "Group by...", instead of it there's the group-icon.
A couple screenshots to show this
