It seems to me like the new meal doesn't work. Everytime I add a meal, it only allows one item. Adding a new item adds a new meal. Ten food items in a day become ten meals. I think this is a bug.
Thanks

New Meal, should actually be "new food item" in my opinion.
The feature you are looking for is under MENU -> FOOD DATABASE -> NEW CUSTOM MEAL.
From there you can add many items to one meal and when it displays on your summary, it lists as that meal name <Custom Meal>.
For example, you can add a custom salad that includes tomatoes, cucumbers, dressing, croutons, onions, etc. and all of those items will be saved under "Mom's Salad" or whatever you want to call it.
It works great :) Let me know if that's what you were looking for.

When I want to add a new food item to my daily food log, I select "New", choose the food, and the select "Done." The food log totals then show the same number of meals as food items for the day.
Also, is there a way to create a one time meal, so my lunch food items all show as a meal without creating a permanent custom meal?

I think the main problem with the totals is that the software views a single food item as a meal, but in reality a meal could have many ingredients to it if it's prepared at home or at a restaurant that is not listed in the database.
As for the one time meal, I suggest still using the custom meal option, but disable the option to save that meal in your favorites. You can still search for that newly created meal, but it won't be listed anywhere that I can see.
I think this would be the best way to enter a one time meal. Does that work for you?

That is a good idea. The problem I have with it is that the food entries for a meal don't seem to allow for changes to portions.

You can edit the proportions after you have added a new item in the meal by pressing edit on the custom meal food list (next to the ADD... button).

Finally looks like that does it. Thanks.
