I use the company field in the contact list to further subdivide categories, then use the grouping feature to sort entries by company.
As an example, at work I use the company field to list depts. an individual works in. For restaurants, I would use the company field to specify the kind of food served and sort under company when I need to contact them.
It would be extremely helpful, and a big time saver, to have a drop down menu that could be edited by the user to select an item to fill in the company field.
This would be similar to drop down menu for 'work', 'home', etc.
