Is there a way to edit this list in Agendus. I have some old categories in there that are NOT in Outlook and I would like to make the lists the same.

Mark,

No, there isn't any way to do this currently. It would appear that WM5 has a new setup that doesn't include deletion of categories- oh joy Microsoft. Not sure if the developers have any recourse. I found this on the newsgroups:

Yeah, this is really weird. I will keep digging around via google and see what I can find. I am still very new to my 700wx so I hadn't even realized this feature was missing. Personally, glad you brought it up.

I use categories, but not very often. I am not a categories type of gal. I don't have that many things on my calendar tasks or contacts so I tend not to need them. I can definitely see using them if I had gobs of stuff to organize.

What is even odder to me is that the category list in Outlook and the one in WM5 don't sysnc. I would have thought that if you changed it in Outlook it would make the list the same on the WM5 device. But it doesn't

Deleting a category was part of a topic a while back and if you read this thread and follow the instructions I have provided, it should work... at least it did for me on several occasions! :p

At the end of the day, Microsoft should have made it easier to edit these darn things, but then again - IT'S A MICROSOFT OS

Your suggestion looks similar to the one on the newsgroup, but help me understand ...where you able to remove preexisting categories? That seems to be the kicker.

I use categories a lot, so I don't want to mess around with removing one of the "standard" categories.

From my past experience, I just go into Outlook and disassociate the categories and erase them. Then I cntrl A all my contacts, calendar, tasks...etc and open categories and select nothing. That works for me. However, the Pocket PC will always retain Business, Holiday, Seasonal, and Personal. It is just so funny how it all works ...just plain awful. It is a shame.
