View Full Version : Anyone at iambic at all interested in VM?

Something I find even more annoying, compared to software that does not work properly, is support / forums that do not give a **** about the users problems.
Some people, me included, have written some posts regarding the milage not showing properly in VM for Pocket PC. It is not the last recorded milage that shows as start for next trip, but some other odd figure (se different posts in this forum).
This is a bug - is it not? Is anyone at all at iambic looking at these posts? Is VM for pocjet PC at all being developed, or is it just a software that "is in stock" and that noone at iambic cares about?

Apparently not.
p.s. I should have pointed out that VM doesn't run on the lowly Palm OS devices. With all the Mobile Windows software iambic is pumping out, it doesn't seem likely that we Palm users will ever see VM for Palm. Vm must not be on the fast track for iambic ...... meaning it's not producing a lot of cash flow for them, so they have got better things to do...... but I'm sure that must be obvious since it's fundamental "business" for iambic at least.

Hi Hookey, would you able to post a link with the thread that explains the problem you are describing above please?
If it is not a problem on the developers "to do list", I will make sure it gets on there.
Thanks.

Here´s the link:

The problem is, that when entering the end-milage in one trip, one expects VM to use this entry as the start-milage in the next trip. However, this is not the case. I uses other figures, I dont know where they come from.. It might be an entry made in error and then changed or something else.
Thanks!

Well, by looking at the "answers" and the time elapsing since my first post, I think I now have answer my (somewhat rethorical) queistion in the title:
"No - noone at iambic cares about VM"
They probably love to sell it, but giving any support at all - no, that is not their way of handling things. They do not take any questions about VM seriously, but rather let the issue die (and the software with it). And I really hate whan I get the feeling I buy something, and then I feel how those who sold me the thing, laughs behind my back and says to each other "Look - we fooled an other one! Yippie!"
"iambic's team of engineers and product developers are constantly producing new and better business and personal solutions for users of mobile devices as well as desktops everywhere"
Hmm.. might be an other compant they have copied this statment from...

This ranks up there with the missing db thread, that by the way is missing also.
Too bad the product has/had potential.

Zano2004,
please refrain from making these sort of posts. They are not helping anyone. Not helping us staying on top of trouble reports, and definitely not helping users out there looking for help.
In regards to the specific question brough up by Hookey, we are definitely listening, and not only listening. Also troubleshooting, and reporting in our bug tracking system what you as well everyone else around here brings up.
What you mention here is known and will be addressed in the next update. We plan to have that ready in a few weeks.
Regards,
- Adriano

A question that comes into my mind is; why did you Adriano, or anyone else at the iabic team, not answer my future postes about this issue, if it was known?
Do I have to wirte posts like Zano2004 to get attention on an issue?
Helping anyone or not - it seems to be easier to get replies of posts that are "rude" (?) than to friendly questions and concern about problems with software that is not very high ranked at iambic. Or...?
For us using iambic software, it does not matter if the product we use is a bestseller or a "lowseller" - we kind of expects to get attention on our issues, answer to our question and help with our problems anyway! It is not us that have put the product on the market, it is iambic, and if you Adriano or your staff does not like to deal with, for example VM, please let us know, but your current attituide: we do not answer, we do not help we pretend we do not read any posts about VM, is not a good attitude, not for buisness and not for your custumors. If you advertise you sell software to professionals, I think it is time to treat us professionals, professionally!
I am looking forward to see how many weeks "a few weeks" are.

I am not trying to be rude or take anyone's side, but even though Iambic actually physically puts the product on the market....we as Consumers are the ones who puts the product on the market. I don't know if you have looked around, but they are pretty busy making products for your palm, or your smartphone, or your ppc, so just give them a break. When Consumers realize the service, or hear on the streets that this product is not working, needing features, etc...sales will drop. Tha'ts what counts! If no one is buying the product then something isn't right, and guess what it will be updated in hopes of bringing sells up. So if you just think about it, we have the power when it comes down to it. Stooping to someones level and trying to cut them down is not right, and it won't do any good. So see what else is out there.

Rude? Rude is being asked a fair question and ignoring the question, which is what Adriano does all the time...........

My point is - if I buy something that should work in a certain way, and it does not because there is something wrong with it (regardless if it is software for my pda or a new car) I want the seller to take responsibility for that and fix it. I should not have shake my shoulders and throw that product away and go and buy something new. I would have been perfectly happy, if Adriano or someone said: "Ok, you are right, this is s problem, we will look into it and fix it!"
But not answering at all feels extremly rude and shows lack of responsibility. If comparing to other products iambic sells, the forums are full with people from "the team" who tries to be friendly and solve issues... Whhat makes this product a "no-talk-about-it-at-all - product"?
i want to use it, I have started to use it which means I want to continue to use it - since changing software is always a problem - and it does not work - is that an issue for me to solve or for the company that have sold it to me!?

You are right. Apparently no one on the team has an interest in the product. Adriano tries to rely on the team to field questions and problems and pass them on to him or Michael in a way that they will notice.
I'm sure it's nothing personal against you. He's just the way he is.......... He takes everything I say personal, no matter that it's true. :D

Hello everyone,
It may seem like we are not paying attention to VM, but this is very untrue. In fact, VM improvements are under review as we speak. Just because there is silence on the forums doesn't mean there is silence internally.
Please know we are working on the known issues and will address them as quickly as possible.
