View Full Version : Can't install VM

Hi,

A couple of questions...

1. It appears that the same version of VM is for both PPC and SmartPhone. Is that true? It's a little confusing as you seem to want to position them as two distince products. Maybe I'm missing something.

2. I have a iPAQ 2250 (or something) and I plan on moving to a Smartphone. Will I be able to move the program and data over when time comes?

3. I downloaded the demo version and have a CAB file. I have a copy of WinRAR that will open it, but there is no exe file in there. I could not find the documentation to install the software. I'm using ActiveSync 3.8.0 (build 5004).

Sorry for the noob questions. :o

TIA!

Andy

Hi, Andy,

The PPC and Smartphone versions are slightly different. Smartphones don't have touch screens, so the Smartphone version does not provide that support.

You want the PPC version for your 2250. You also may prefer to use the "PC Setup" or Windows installer version, which will be more familiar to you - just double-click the file and follow the prompts to install the program.

Double-clicking a .cab file on the PC does not render much useful information, but when a .cab file is copied to the storage card or main memory on the mobile device, selected in File Explorer, and activated by a center-press of the 5-way navigator, it becomes an installer on the device.
