I am new to TinySheet 4.02 on my 2MB Visor with an InnoPax/2V Springboard memory module. The calculator popup works fine for data entry except that bent arrow in the lower right hand corner I take to be an Enter key. It doesn't seem to be discussed in the manual. In any case, whenever I hit it, I get a fatal exception and the Visor has to be reset. This makes the calculator less than fully useful. Any ideas on this one?

I tried to reproduce the "fatal error" on a handspring 2mb device but was unable too. My suggestion is to delete the TinySheet 4.02 application from the palm and then reinstall TinySheet again.

I deleted Tiny Sheet 3.x from my Visor. I deleted Tiny Sheet 4.x from my Visor. I wiped out all associated files. I deleted Tiny Sheet from my PC. I reinstalled Tiny Sheet 4.x on my PC. I reinstalled Tiny Sheet 4.x on my Visor. Same problem. Everything works fine except that Return key which causes a "Fatal Exception and forces a reset of the Visor. Is it possible that there is a problem in the download from Iambic and I should download it again?

Come to think of it--I should have mentioned earlier that I bought Tiny Sheet, but the package was old so, after installing 3.x, I upgraded to 4.02 via a download from Iambic. Is it possible to get or purchase a CD with the newest version on it?

One thing that worries me is that, even though I completely delete Tiny Sheet from my Visor, when I reinstall it, it goes back to my Favorites so something is retaining a memory of it.

I re-loaded the original 3.x. No problem. Only the 4.x version has the problem. For now, I am going to use 3.x.

I have forwarded the problem to engineering to see if they can reproduce your problem.

I had high hopes that the new version of TinySheet would fix the problem I am having with the Enter arrow in the popup calculator. Using it causes a fatal exception which means my Visor resets. I am not having any other problems, but this one is fast becoming a pain since it looks like it will never be fixed. Version 3.x does not have the problem.

Try the upgraded version 4.03 posted 20 Nov. the enter key works fine in the calculator;)

I am running the latest version as far as I know. 4.03 Build 149 downloaded Nov 20, 2001 at 9:37 AM. I will check to make sure there is not a more recent version, but, frankly, this looks like a problem that will not be fixed soon. It started with 4.02 and has continued through all updates. I have reinstalled 4.02 several times including a hard reset of the Visor. I even pulled the Springboard memory module just in case there was some interaction. I killed all other programs with a hard reset, then installed only TinySheet. Nothing helped. On the other hand, my original version 3.x works fine. Other than that, TinySheet is great. No sync problems as others have reported. It's just that !@#$%^&* Enter key ...

I am using a PALM IIIC and have had no problems with the "enter" key from the calculator. Try a backwards slash to enter.

Sure--I can always use the backslash--I figured that out pretty quickly--but it is sort of a pain that something is keeping the correct key from working and it bothers me that the entire Visor does a nosedive into a fatal exception if I accidentally hit the Enter key. Obviously there is a problem and was not a problem in the earlier 3.x version. I wish somebody could at least duplicate the problem, but it looks like that is an increasingly forlorn hope.

I just tried the IIIC / Tinysheet calculator again. I started in cell B22. Then i tapped the calculator icon and an "=" symbol appeared on the top of the screen to the right of the red X. Then I wrote in A1 (on the graffiti area) and then *9 on the calculator and then enter from the calculator. Result was =A1*9 in cell B22.

It all worked fine- maybe it is the Handspring

Hank,

It seems like you are the only one with the reported failure. I also believe that it could be a problem related with your Visor, or with any software installed on it that is causing the Fatal Exception Error.

I'm using a Palm M505 and I'm not having that error, but others (check on the "Strange Behaviour" Thread, in this very forum).

I wish you good luck, and hope your problem gets corrected for once and for all. :)

Yeah--it sounds like I am alone out here although I recently replaced my Visor with a new one when the old one suddenly stopped working. Handspring sent me a new one which was just like my old one. I took advantage of the opportunity to load TinySheet from scratch with no other third party software on it. Bad news--the problem is still there. 3.x works fine. 4.x has the problem.

Tomorrow I will get my newest Visor, this time an 8MB model, so I will reload TinySheet from scratch to see if the 8MB Visor has the same problem. The 2 and 8 MB models run the same version of Palm OS so this should be a good test ...

It looks like this is just another problem with which I shall have to live.
