I submitted an urgent request to support today regarding PVM which is otherwise in regular use. I received an automated response but nothing more since.
As with a previous thread, and there are not many to say the least on this program, the impression being gained is that the forums are more a way of re-directing an issue than a real opportunity to resolve it.

My issue to support was:
All my PVM files, which included backups - so there are quite a few, were in My Documents. I transferred all the PVM files into a separate folder under My Documents, called _PVM. I then found that PVM would not open the database. So I transferred all the files back to My Documents and PVM will would not recognise the presence of the database. Copy of error message is attached. Please advise.

Nigel,

thank you for your post. In most cases we follow-up to tickets within 24 hrs... a bit longer if that falls over weekends.

Please rest assured your ticket will be taken care of. As of the specifics of the problem you mention here, first thing I'd take a look at the Vehicle Manager knowledge base (http://support.iambic.com/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=view&parentcategoryid=30&nav=0%2C16), especially to the upgrade steps article, if you recently upgraded from an older version to the latest 3.3

Regards,

- Adriano

Thanks, Adriano, for your prompt reply.

1.
In the first instance I don't see why an update should be needed since PVM was working perfectly well before I decided to re-organise directories. Currently I have 3.2

2
Re-upgrade proceedure
Have been though the upgrade information in which it is necessary to find and transfer the file MyVehicles.dat.

I have searched everywhere both as MyVehicles.* and *.dat and there is no file named MyVehicles anywhere. I have also been to the Recycle Bin (which hasn't been emptied for a while) and there is nothing there. And yet (as mentioned) PVM was working perfectly well before trying to re-organise the directiory.
Your comments please. And does it make any difference that this program was bought when it was under the Two Peaks banner?

Secondly trawling through FAQs is often a long and arduous business and, being in business myself I really don't have the time for all of that. What I need is a direct and simple answer, so that is why I generally go straight to technical support with any program issue.
