View Full Version : It's not a bug, it's a feature!

Well, not to me.
1) I asked for upgrade options (fill your email before you download and we will send you...). Nada. Bad service guys!

2) I downloaded v5. Actually, only for the button assignment. Settings as follows: Calendar set to ActionNames, Contacts set to ActionNames.
(By the way, during preferences setup, fields get real weird, I see 1 7 31 1/4 popping up. Saw another post on this.)

When I press the hard-buttons, the first screen I see is the last screen I left. Meaning: when I press the contacts button, I first get my dayview of the calendar. Second push on the contacts button, I get the contacts.

When I then press the Calendar button, first I get the contacts and only on second press the actual calendar.

So, the only feature actually worth upgrading for doesn't work.

Then, last but not least, I cannot see details of my appointments, because AN tells me the (just installed) version has ran out of demo time. Three days? My @##@. Three minutes....

Bad stuff guys. Seems like you're not taking your customers too seriously. It's worse then the average Microsoft release...
Back to v4.x

Hi,

Sorry about the problems you encountered.

I know that there are some other posts in the forum regarding this button issue. See http://www.iambic.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=280 for example.

What exactly went wrong when you visited this page? http://my.iambic.com/UpgMain.asp

Without the details it is hard to help more. Basically, depending on eligibility, you should either have gotten a free unlock code mailed to you and also appearing instantly in the browser window, or have been directed to where you can purchase the upgrade.

We have been experiencing some delays in getting the upgrade licenses out when our systems cannot automatically determine eligibility. Please make sure you use the same email address that you registered AN 4.X with when you qualify and also purchase the upgrade. People change addresses frequently and it is a key part of the data we use to identify customers.

Best regards,

Vidal.

Sir,
getting a response from Iambic shows definitely this is not like the average MS release ;-)
To go short:
- the button issue even seems like it's a Palm issue - if you don't hold the button down long enough there's a timing issue. I'll play around with that.

- On the download/registration thing: I did not get an immediate response from the server - which is OK. But, the screen says I will receive an email with upgrade instructions - which I did not get, for sure. You might want to check on that one.
Worst: I downloaded the eval copy, to see if I was going to upgrade. I could not see the details of my appointments anymore: when I tapped on an appointment, the software told me that the 'evaluation period had expired'. Back to my purchased 4.61 (I believe) faster than you can say Iambic.
(and yes, I used the same email address, I double checked before I responded to your comments)

I'll play around with it when I get the chance again.
For now - thanks for the quick reply.
