hi! i have most of my tasks associated with some contacts. what i'd like to see is the list of associated tasks when a contact calls me, and a possibility to associate a new task with the contact by default during and after a call.

is this possible to do?

The way to do this currently would be to access your contact by tap and hold in Agendus and selecting contact history.

I love your suggestion to somehow automate the process though! This might be tricky to do for develpers if Agendus is closed on the device when a contact calls. There would have to be some way for the app to trigger. What are your thoughts on how to do this?

Using the contact history as Nancy suggests should work, but I'm having a hard time seeing how this would be implemented as a feature.

Most people I see on their blackberry's and integrated phone devices have them up to their ears when talking on the phone. Yes, there are some that use headsets, but is this a large portion of users?

Can the OS actually allow software to override the "phone" component of the OS? I don't have a smartphone, so I'm not sure about these questions.

I love the idea though. Multitasking at it's best!

Yes, being able to mess with the phone is a consideration but I use my bt headset and then I can multitask. My guess is a lot of people do because they want to be free to see their screens. One workaround that might be cool to experiment with would be to use a program that can schedule and or trigger Agendus to open when a call comes in. That is a lame solution but it would be fun to play with for the time being. I have several like MemMaid or PHM that would have a feature to schedule a run command. There are others that do that too. It would be nice of one of them ran a command when a phone call is received...but I don't know if any of the products do that as of yet. Something to research today. :)

actually when you get an incoming call you can press a soft key "menu" which allows you to launch contacts or calendar. so if Agendus is assigned as default PIM I can launch it, however then I need to manually search for the contact. and this takes a lot of time. I use Jabra so my hands are free, but still it's not very convenient.

Nancy, I wonder what you've found during your research.

I never use that option in the menu to launch contacts. I tend to use the memo the most (because it is sooo cool how it autofills your contact's name and number when you create one during a call) so I totally forgot about that contact option being in the menu so that is still not super bad. It is a lot better than nothing. :o

I haven't researched but a couple so far and nothing yet. I still have some other things I want to look at. What might be good is if the option to open views via button assignments is implemented. I made that suggestion once and Adriano seemed to like it. That would be a huge help since there are no commmand parameters, that I am aware of, that can do this now. For instance, if you had an option in Agendus that would open a certain view by default, like contacts, (you can do this by leaving contacts view on when you exit Agendus currently). Then, the hard part would be having the phone's os communicate the contact info to the lookup history. hmmmm it sounds way complicated. Who knows though. If we had, perhaps, a generic history window or view that had a lookup field or better yet why not do this with search function???? I am babbling on.....:bulb: :haha:

I know there is a request for a reminder dialogue that is apart from the standard os one that now appears that would allow us to open and or go to the reminder item directly via a link, maybe we could get a call bubble that would have a link to history. That way, when the person calls, the bubble pops up and asks us to view history, go to contact or create memo. Now woudln't that be the bomb!:D

oooohhhh Adriano is going to kill me for all of this...:haha: ;)

MemMaid has a feature to schedule an event but it only works with turning on the device, upon connection etc...it would be nice if there was an app that could create events based on callers. It almost sounds like we should wonder over to SPB and see what they could do with SPB Phone Suite. It would be a cool feature for them to add onto their settings...
