I have a Treo so my square screen can be a challenge at times.

I like using the Day View screen most often in Agendus Professional (http://www.iambic.com/agenduspro/wmppc/). However, I couldn't always see the whole of my appointment description. Try some of these tips:

Go to your Day View and tap the Tool Button on the lower right bottom of your screen in the toolbar. Set "Day Scale" to 30 min or lower. This opens up our appointment descriptions (especially if they are 1hour appointments) so that you can see more of the description. Personally, I like mine set on 15 min. Furthermore, when I tap and hold on the Day View this gives me the least restrictive appointment time choices because I am not just limited to creating an appointment on each hour. With 15 min scale, I can then set an appointment at 12:00, 12:15, or 12:45 if I want to by selecting that time slot on the Day View.

Next, you can consider changing the font size to 10 for Day View by again tapping that handy tool button in the far right bottom of your screen while in Day View and setting the Font Size button. Again here, it will enable the maximum amount of text to show in your descriptions. This is great if you are person who likes to use the tool bar buttons at the bottom of the screen and doesn't want to have to hide them in order to free up more space on the appointment list. (If you set your time scale to 15 min or lower you can keep your fonts bigger-good for those of us with older eyes ;) )

Next, try living without the toolbar on the bottom of the screen if your device comes with a thumb keyboard. Treos are great for one hand use so I have made a habit of using the right soft key and the keyboard shortcuts. You will be surprised how fast this works once you get used to it.

Say I want to got to Week View from Day View: I press my right softkey, press V on my keyboard for Views, and press W on my keyboard for Week view.

Finally, if you don't have a device keyboard, considering using a third party software that allows you to enter text by writing directly on the screen so you don't take up precious space with your SIP Keyboard. Calligrapher (http://www.phatware.com/calligrapher/index.html) is a great choice and even offers macros (little commands that you customize). However, be aware that this will cost you more memory consumption on your device. If you aren't loaded down with programs, you should be fine.
