View Full Version : Entering extended digits

This is a worse problem on the Centro than the 700...
I called from the Centro to activate a credit card...enter your cc number followed by the # sign. Well, the numbers enter fine, except the zero. Huh? So I thought, well...I'll just press the phone button and go to the phone app/dialer. No way. There is no way to return to the dialer on the Centro.
A similar situation with the 700p showed that zeros work one out of every 5 key presses (not good enough!), but at least on the 700 if you go to the launcher and then hit the green button it will return you to the default dialer.
This is two Palm devices I'm having the issue of zeros with, and no apparent "fix" for the Centro. Can anyone else confirm?

This may or may not have anything to do with the above, but I'm going to add it here since no one else has commented yet....
I have my Treo (and the loaner Centro for the next few days) set to turn off touch screen when in a call. YC let me know that the screen was disabled. But when I was off the call, my screen(s) was still disabled, and YC was now intercepting calls before my ringtone manager got to them. Removing YC made everything alright again.
I'm going to play some more with the disable screen feature off this evening.

Hi,
This all seems really bizarre.
1) Regarding entering zeros, so it works part of the time, but then all the sudden zeros no longer work?
2) To get to the native phone app while on a call with the YC OnCall dialog showing, you should be able to press/hold the phone button for a couple of seconds
3) On the other point, I don't understand "..when I was off the call, my screen(s) was still disabled, and YC was now intercepting calls before my ringtone manager got to them"
What do you mean the screen was still disabled? Where? What screen was showing that was "still disabled"?
Regarding the ringtones, I'm assuming you have the Incoming dialog disabled, or it wouldn't have worked in thd first place. So you're saying after this call, that the Incoming dialog "re-enabled", or it just stopped your ringtones period?

If I'm trying to input credit card # 12022056, the first 0 goes in without a hitch, the second time I get to the 0, I can hit the 0 button a dozen times to no avail.
2) To get to the native phone app while on a call with the YC OnCall dialog showing, you should be able to press/hold the phone button for a couple of seconds
I'm going to try this again
3) On the other point, I don't understand "..when I was off the call, my screen(s) was still disabled, and YC was now intercepting calls before my ringtone manager got to them"

After hanging up from the call, no amount of tapping the screen registered whatsoever. It was as though the device felt the call was still in progress and continued to have the touch screen disabled. Not even a soft reset would change this. Only removing YC returned the touch screen.
Regarding the ringtones, I'm assuming you have the Incoming dialog disabled, or it wouldn't have worked in thd first place. So you're saying after this call, that the Incoming dialog "re-enabled", or it just stopped your ringtones period?
Correct. Incoming dialog was disabled so that it worked the first time. Incoming dialog was not re-enabled.
I'm about to try the whole "experiment" over again, cause the more I think about it, the more convinced I am I'll have different results if I don't have the device set to "disable touch screen on call."

I feel like I've just fallen through the rabbit hole. While I still can't enter digits while on a call, holding the phone button on the Centro does the trick for returning me to the native dialer. I'm not experiencing any of the problems I had on both devices yesterday. Gahhhhhh!

Sorry for not reporting back on this thread. Someone else posted the same problem in another thread, and we narrowed it down to be caused by KeyCaps.
