I was all excited about the new version (currently running 4.56 since 3/01), but just this week found that All of my personally designed icons have disappeared! I tried to contact support, but the site does "not recognize my email address". Ug. I want my icons back! They were attached to all my meeting and appointments for the coming year(s). It's bad enough to think that I would have to redesign and reassign my icons with the new release, but HORRIFIC (sorry for yelling; I'm frustrated!) that my icons just "disappeared" when all I did was sync... I did notice that the icon "note" still appears...just the icons are gone. Any suggestions?

Hi,
Not sure how these would have just randomly gotten deleted. Possibly, you deleted AND or hard reset your palm. If so try looking in your \palm\<palmusername>\backup folder for Icondb-iambic.pdb. You may be able to re-install this database and restore these icons. That is unless you have already created new icons which would cause this backup to be overwritten.

I had the same problem when I upgraded to 5.0. When I went into my backup folder, 5.0 had OVERWRITTEN my previous icon database. A lot of work (customizing icons) down the drain.

Hi, it's me again. I took your advice, found the back-up file and reinstalled it...didn't work. I think because I had synced since the problem first occurred, the file was overwritten, even though I didn't design any more icons. I don't think I will either...What a drag...

I'm pretty sure that the installation instructions warned that if you installed the new icon files, they would step on your existing files. Did you install more than just the ActionNames.prc?
I have a whole pile of custom icons, too, so I went out of my way *not* to install the icons file. My icons remained intact.

Actually, I didn't intentionally install any files prior to losing my icons! I have not yet upgraded to 5.0, so I had no reason to install anything! I just synced, and the file was installed. I know that sounds rather mysterious, and I'm sure I must have s o m e h o w , a c c i d e n t a l l y, listed the icon file on my installation list whereby it was installed in my next sync, but really, I must have been delirious, because I certainly don't remember doing it!
Are the icons included in 5.0 more nifty than on previous versions??? Thanks for your help!
