I've run into an issue where ActiveSync is saying there are 2 unresolved items between my WM6 smartphone and windows Vehicle manager. I can't seem to see any differences in the files or a clean way of having the application resolve this for me.
Other than nuking one and hoping the other will sync over, is there a procedure for resolving conflicts?

Hi estemmer,
Can you confirm that both items are closed on the pc and ppc and see if this will help?

Hello, estemmer,
Before you go nuking, please decide which has the more recent data - on the PC or on the handheld. Then back up the database. It's called "My Vehicles.dat," and it is located in My Documents (or just "Documents" in Vista). Right-click it and select COPY, then right-click on your desktop and select PASTE.
Now that's safely backed up and out of the way. Tell me, did this problem syncing Vehicle Manager coincide with upgrading your ActiveSync?
Thanks!

Thanks. I shouldn't have called it "nuking" as I really meant renaming which is what I ended up doing on the windows side, created a new empty file and then did a resync with the data from my BlackJack. That series of steps worked just fine :)
Honestly, From going through both files, I couldn't find any differences in the records. I just know that I enter my fuel data as I fill it up, so the Handheld takes preference in nearly all cases.
This probably happened because I had one or the other open while I had my phone connected for charge/hotsync. With my Treo/Palm this was never an issue since it didn't do things unless I told it to.
I'm just raising the question on how to cleanly clear up these issues without resorting to deleting databases. Maybe a dialogue could at least prompt for which one should take preference in such cases to avoid manual file level intervention by the user.
Thanks, and a few pennies from me. :)
