The other thread seemed dedicated to XP so I started a VISTA one.
I have followed the update instructions twice, and then also removed the triptracker.dat from MyDocuments on my PPC. Whenever I try to sync, WM Device Center goes through the motions but no new triptracker.dat is created in PPC MyDocuments. I can only get the database by running TT on the PPC and then it is blank. If I try to sync from the desktop, the PPC database is not changed.
I do see TT Sync Settings listed in the 'Change Content Sync Settings' in WM Device Center. The TT entry is checked and appears active but clicking on the 'Sync Settings' option does nothing.

I added triptracker.dat to the Files section of the 'Change Content Sync Settings" in the WM Device Center. Now on sync it appears to update the PPC MyDocuments folder and the PPC TT finds the file and runs correctly.

Thanks for the update. Once a .dat is deleted on either Win or WM, the app must be launched once to regenerate a blank databse before sync will work properly.

Well it appears that even though there was a blank database on the PPC, the sync would not update it. I removed the database from the PPC and synced by adding the file to the File sync of the PC WM Device Center. It then transfered the PC database to create a new database on PPC and PPC TT worked OK with it.
Now it appears that the PPC will sync consistently only if the triptracker.dat is included in the File Sync of WM Device Center AND the Trip Tracker entry is checked.

I am having a rather serious synchronization issue on a Toshiba Tablet (M700) running Vista Ultrimate with TT4. It synchronizes, but causes a BSOD with RDR_FILE_SYSTEM and mrxsmb10.sys noted as the issues. This never happened until installing TT4. I have confirmed this as the cause by running with my Treo 700wx out of the cradle for over 24 hours with no BSOD. Plugged in the Treo and got the BSOD. Restarted and plugged in the Treo and enabled a quick sync at which time I immediately modified the Content Sync Settings and de-selected TT4. Have been running well since. Any ideas how to resolve this one? I'm thrilled to have TT4, but sure would like it to be able to sync without a BSOD. Thanks very much for your help.

Hi MShoer,
We've definitely not had any BlueScreen reports. I can only suggest terminating WMDC and SyncCenter via Task Manager, then reinstalling TT4 Win.
Afterward, (make sure you backup first) delete both .dat files on the PC and Treo, then relaunch each to regenerate a fresh .dat.
Before reconnecting your Treo, delete the current relationship in WMDC. Once you've done this, connect and go through new device setup wizard and see what happens.

Michael,
I am trying to backup my TripTracker file to test your recommendation and while it says it has backed up successfully, it never creates the backup file. How can I backup my data?

Hi,
You could simply copy the TripTracker.dat file from My Documents to some other place on your PC/PPC.
