I just bought TripTracker since I used WorldMate which was very buggy (duplicating each trips at each sync, major airports missing).
Now I see that TripTracker "calculates" the local times at destination automatically when placing events in Outlook's calendar!!!
When flying say from Geneva (GMT+1) to Portland (GMT-8), a car rental pick up in Portland at 1pm is shown as 10pm in my Outlook calendar.
Of course it will show 1pm if once in Portland, I set my laptop & PDA time to GMT-8. But this will show all wrong times for my Geneva appointments.
Now we all know what mess Outlook does when switching time zones. After 10 years, MicrobeSoft still didn't find a way to handle time zones.
So I have bought a tool that fixes that by putting back all events into the right time slots in case of time zone switch, after Outlook messes everything up.
Now it won't be possible if TripTracker shifts everything before.
When switching from GMT+1 to GMT-8, the events from TripTracker will be correctly displayed to the local time zone, but all of my calendar events in Geneva will be wrong.
Of course, I don't want to use the Outlook "two time zone calendar time bands" to "compare".
Is there a way to have TripTracker place events at the real hour in the calendar?
Having my car pickup showing up at 1pm (before I switch to GMT-8), not 10pm? So it won't automatically "do the math for us"?
If this is not possible, well, I bought TripTracker for nothing until there is a quick fix version offering an option do calculate automatically time zone or NOT to use such a "feature".
Thanks for any help.
Steve
