Hello,
I bought propel some days ago. I like it, but it is so slow!
- When pushing home: Propel takes between 6/7 seconds to finish launching.
- When pushing "arrows" to go to another categorie, it uses between 4/5 seconds to move 1 categorie left or right.
- When pushing a categorie name to choose it, it takes between 3/4 seconds to go to it.
Also: When pushing home for a second time, one jums out of Propell and into last view in default launcher. One more push on home brings Propell back again, but it again takes 6/7 seconds to launch. Should it be like that
This is all way to slow, the default launcher is much faster!
How can I speed propel up?
regards,
Anders H.

Hi,
Propel definitely shouldn't be this slow.
Couple of things to try:
1) are you using a 'live jpeg' as a background? This is slow as the jpeg has to be converted each time you display. Using a converted jpeg is much quicker
2) are you running with a very full cache? If so, the operating system will have to do a clear out before launching Initiate. You can try reset doctor (by hobbyistsoftware) to get an idea of how your cache usage is. It has a free trial, and can even display info as a plugin in propel.
3) if you are using double resolution icons (preferences/layout) then that does stress things somewhat too (the icons have to be resampled live).
try changing these to experiment - let us know.
propel should be pretty quick - it takes less than a second to launch from another app on my 680.

Hi,
1. I turned off background all together (since using a converted jpg did not change things), but this did not help.
2. I had 20MB cache free. used reset doctor to free up cache, to 34 MB, but this did not help either.
3. I was not using double resolution icons...
- Startup for Propell is now about 5/6 seconds,
- Going from Agendus to propel via home button is now 6 seconds.
Still too slow.
Now what?

Anders H.

I'm not sure what to suggest...
do you get this 6sec delay going from any app to propel, or just from agendus?
you could check for apps in the background that may be slowing stuff down, but to be honest I wouldn't expect that to make nearly this sort of difference:

Hi,
The solutions, was: Reinstall the original At 211 ROM. The culprit was the ROM found here (beaytifull solution else by Thomastic), http://discussion.treocentral.com/showpost.php?p=1268550&postcount=1 . But in some way, it made propell go totally slow on me. So thus i reinstalled this, and then propell was fast again!
Works much better then!!!
