Hi,
Thanks for finally brining this to beta.
Some initial input.
> Where do you enter the trial code? The Activate screen gets me nowhere. If I hit activate I get the lower left hand portion of the screen go white. I then hit the Blackberry Menu button, select activate again and wait and get a box saying "An Error has occurred" Do I not have full function without the code entered?
> In one day view I have more items than fit on the screen. I cannot scroll past the last item shown on my screen.
> Today View - completed tasks are showing up. There needs to be a way to hide these. A time period should be shown in preferences for updating weather, quote of the day, and today in history automatically.
> One Day View - Should have settings to hide completed tasks and to have the events/meetings show on the top. Also a setting for an "Agenda" type view that lists meetings firsts then tasks.
> Week View List - Should have a setting to hide completed tasks and to show meetings before tasks.
> Task View - Need to have task sort options similar to Agendus for Windows.
> Where are the icons? Colors? Text size/font selection options?

Hello,
Let me first say that I had the palm version of Agendus for a few years and loved it, but had to switch to a BB. So, I've been anxiously waiting for this.
I'm having some issues with the 109 release.
1. The data retrieving portions consistently return with, "Error Retrieving Data.".
2. None of the, "Choose View..." links work for me. So, all I can see is the initial, "Today View".
3. I cannot open recurring appointments from the today view. It brings up the menu to open them, but gives an, "<Empty Menu>" message when I try to select it.
Thanks for the help.

Hi,
I am unable to open Agendus on my Sprint BB Curve. I keep getting
"uncaught exception:java.lang.IndexOutOfBoundsException".
Can anyone help with this?
Thanks,
Avril

Agree with Mark; where do you put it? I click on activate and get a request for my email address which doesn't take me anyplace else. Everything else seems to be working and looks good for beta. Week grid is good; obviously want to set week grid as default to open but no choice in preferences for this.
Thanks and keep going!

Hey avrilB, what operating system are you running and what programs do you have installed. Maybe we can figure it out.

I have 4.3 OS. The only additional program I have is BBSmart Email. I just got this BB a couple of days ago so I am still new to this.
However, I have had Agendus on my Palm forever.
Thanks for the help.

Hi everyone,
Thanks for all of your feedback.
As far as the code entry if you will access the menu again once in the activate dialog, you should see 'Enter Code' there.
Regarding the various view preferences, most if not all of these are planned for implementation. As mentioned in the Known Issues list, the preferences are not yet complete.
As far as the launch error, this is strange. Could you try deleting Agendus via Options->Advanced Options->Applications, then soft reset & install again?
Regaring one day scrolling...I will investigate this and get back to you.
Icons/colors, etc. will come in time.
On the OTA update errors, this is also strange...Go to Options->Advanced Options->Applications, highlight Agendus, then access the menu and check the permissions.
Keep the feedback coming. I'll follow up again.

Thanks for the info Michael.
Tried second menu within Activate menu; three choice: Activate, Show Symbols and Close. Activate selection results in "An error has occurred."
Tried this with email field empty and filled in.
Thanks,

Hi Michael,
Thanks for your response. I have tried your suggestions...regretfully, I am still receiving the same "uncaught exception:java.lang.IndexOutOfBoundsException".
I did visit the Java site but was unsuccessful in finding out what this message means.
Thanks again for the help,
Avril

Still don't see a place to enter a code - under activation menu, all I've got is "activate", "show symbols", and "close".
On tasks, I would love to see an option to get rid of having to set a specific time! I've never understood this - if I wanted to set a time, I would have made an appointment.

For you guys that have the software working, can you post what operating system you are using? Myself and avril are trying to figure out why this error will not allow us to load the application. Thanks

I'm using a BB 8830 on Sprint with v4.2.2.196 running and everything works well except entering the trial activation code to access all features.

I am using 4.2, and it installed and worked last night...now, all of a sudden, I am getting an error "cannot read application data" when I try to sync it. I tried uninstalling agendus, but it wouldn't read the application data in the basic programs either. Wouldn't even open the tasks. I had to restore all the data on my device, and now I'm kinda scared to re-install agendus again!

So from what I have collected so far, it seems that if you are running os 4.2, the software will work. I am running os 4.5 and I think that this may be the problem. I think they have to figure out something for operating systems greater than 4.2. I will just have to wait until they figure out the problem. Thank you for posting your os, I really appreciate that.

Ok, so maybe I'm the only one here...I re-installed agendus, changed one of the dates of a task on my phone, and tried to sync again. I'm now getting the same "unable to read application data" error again. It seems that I can change the information on outlook (on my computer) and have it sync with the BB just fine, but it messes everything up the other way around. Is anyone else having this issue? I'm going to have to uninstall it for now...

I have a sprint 8330 BB Curve and when I put in the activation code, it freezes the phone and then the screen turns white. I have to reboot the phone.

Hey Soonerfire, I have heard this problem occuring in similar applications as agendus. I think they probably should have done a better private beta testing. The type of issue you have, probably should have been caught in the private beta. The only thing we can do now is wait.........

The 8830 World Edition doesn't use OS v4.5 so perhaps that is the issue on other models...

I agree. I would also like to see it go to the next week when you scroll past Saturday.
Where is the month view? I dont have that on my options for views.

Hi,
1. Scrolling to the next/previous day/week/month in the respective views is something we're planning to add at some point.
2. As mentioned in the known issues, the month view is not yet complete.

I am running a vzw BB 8330 v4.3 with BB Desktop software v4.3. When I attemp to install Agendus through the desktop installer I receive "No application for you device found." I see the agendus.alx file, highlight it, and attempt install but this error comes up everytime. Am I doing something wrong or could this be a compatibility issue?

Personally, I would like to see the following:
1) The "Go To View..." dissappear and have the views an option on the actual menu. That would eliminate an extra unnecessary click.
2) On both the "View Contact" expanded and compact views, I wish it did not have all the filters listed at the top. It would be nice to just start typing the last name as soon as the list shows up. I think it would be more user friendly to have the filters in the menu like the standard Blackberry address book. Having the filters at the top, I often find myself typing in the wrong line and messing up the views. At the very least make the top/default line a "search" box so if you immediately start typing it actually finds your entry instead of changing the category.
3) An the expanded "Contact View", eliminate the extra unused lines when they are not needed (i.e. if a contact only has 1 number in it, shrink the 4 lines to one only and eliminate the extra 3 blank lines).
4) In the majority of the different headers in all the views, change the menu colors from grey with a lighter-grey text to something that stands out more (i.e. grey with black text). They are very hard to read unless you move the highlighting to that option.
5) When hitting the escape button, have it either go back to your main today page, or have a pop-up menu that asks if you truely want to exit. I can't tell you how many times I closed the program by mistake.
Just my ideas/suggestions. Hope they make sense. I think the program is promising and I look forward to it being fully operational.
Good luck.

Its most likely the new os 4.5 that is causing your error. I cant even load the application on my 8310 and I have os 4.5. I think it may only work on the 4.2 os. Hopefully they will figure this one out tomorrow.

I have a t-mobile curve 8820 running os4.2.2.180.
I loaded then deleted and reloaded both times agendes wouldn't acutally open. the icon apears on the main menu the first time I select it it locks up the device, no error just you can't do anything. I turn off and then turn on the BB and I can open and close other ablications but nothing happens when I select the agendus Icon. I do use t-mobiles uma and I have splash shopper installed other than that I use only standard applications.

They have to do more testing today sometime. They probably only beta tested the program on one operating system. Lets hope the best for the upcoming future.

Do you have overlapping meetings within a day?

Michael - I had a large list of tasks that show first and could not scroll past the last task shown on "the first page" to the remaining tasks or any meetings.

For those of you who experienced the launch error. Would you please try the following ONLY IF YOUR PC'S DATA IS THE MOST CURRENT:?
- change the Synchronization options for Calendar to One Way To Device and select the option to replace items on the device
- sync
- try launching AGBB again

Tried the above and still getting error code. Since I'm getting sick of re-starting my BB, I'm done.

All of these posts are valid but let's remember what the meaning is of beta software: it isn't ready for primetime and those of us who choose to try it need to recognize it won't work perfectly and many features will not be included! I'm sure Iambic wants all of the input to help the BB version become as powerful as the Palm version, but let's put our suggestions in context, i.e. would we all like icons and color-coding? Sure! But they elected to provide some other things and a lean version just to get some kind of PIM functionality out for all of us crackberry fanatics. Now let's give them a bit of space to digest our input and produce the next build. (Just a suggestion)

Hi All,
This thread is becoming too "multi-topic'd" and difficult to idnetify the real problems and likewise reply so that the intended recipient gets it. I'm going to close it because otherwise something will get lost.
If you did not receive a response from us on something you posted here, please copy/paste your post in a new thread in the root of this beta form (http://support.iambic.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=150).
If you discover new issues with build 109 that are not already mentioned here or additional helpful information for the ones that are, please start a new thread in the root of the AGBB beta forum. (http://support.iambic.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=150)
Do the same for features that have not already been mentioned.
Specifically regarding launch error, I have started a new sticky (http://support.iambic.com/forum/showthread.php?t=34393) on this topic. Plese post there on this particular topic.
Going forward, it will be help us help you if each thread is topic-specific.
Thanks.
