View Full Version : Sync Issue

I had originally posted this in the long thread, and I think it got kind of lost...
I have a BB curve with ATT. I was running build 109, and it opened and ran just fine...until I tried to change the date of a task. I would then attempt to sync it with Microsoft Outlook, and I would get an error "unable to read application data" on the computer. This error persisted even after I uninstalled agendus; I had to restore my BB software through the software manager. I did this twice just to make sure it wasn't a fluke, and the same thing happened both times. It does not seem to have a problem when I change the date of a task through outlook, though.
Also, please, please, please can you add some kind of preference to take away the requirement of setting a time for a task? It's incredibly annoying...plus, I noticed that it often makes tasks appear twice in agendus (once today, and once tomorrow).
Thank you!

Hi SoonerSunfire,
You're right...your post got lost. Sorry for that.
Have you yet uninstalled 109 and installed 110, then retrying the task issue?
Regarding the time requirement for tasks, this is a requirement of the native tasks on BB devices, so we cannot leave that field void of a value.

Okay, even weirder. I installed 110, and now I can't even open tasks to change them. When I click on a task, I'm getting "Uncaught exception: java.lang.illegalargumentException". When I hit "ok", it takes me back to my home page (zen on my bb curve). When I re-enter agendus, that task is just magically gone.
I set BB manager to sync only from outlook to my BB, and that works just fine (except that the missing error tasks are still missing on the BB, but not in outlook).
I then allowed it to sync both ways, and it actually worked (which it wouldn't before), but it deleted the missing error tasks from outlook too.
Any ideas?
Also, if you can't get rid of the time field for the tasks, how about being able to set a custom default time, like 10pm or something, so that it doesn't move the task to "late" in the middle of the current day?
Thanks for everything! I can't wait until this thing is fully operational!

I'm uncertain why you're having this wierdness with Tasks. You might want to try a One Way Sync from OL to Device and select the option to replace items on the device.
We'll look into options on the Task time thing.

I replaced all the tasks on my device, but I'm getting the exact same error when I try to click on any of them. So far, no good. :(
Thanks!

I went ahead and switched to the 111 build. No more error when I click on tasks - I can modify them now - but now I'm back to the same issue when I sync with outlook. It's saying "Unable to read application data" after I change a date on a task. And outlook is set to override all data on the bb.
It's really frustrating that I seem to be the only one having this problem, and I don't know why!

Can you try launching the native Tasks application once, then try syncing again? Also if you don't have a terribly high number of tasks you could try deleting each one on your BB, and try syncing after that.
If you uninstall AGBB from the device, does sync work ok?

I really appreciate you following up with me on this. After changing a task within Agendus, it seems to do something to the native tasks app as well. Every time I go to sync, it gives me the same error - even after agendus is uninstalled. I have to restore my BB using the device manager, which isn't much fun. I get the same error on my BB when trying to use the native tasks (but not after everything has been restored WITHOUT agendus; so the native app works okay.

Update: I upgraded to OS 4.5, reinstalled agendus, and I'm still getting the same sync error. Pooh.

I have had exactly the same problem as described here on an 8830.

Sorry - I just saw the guidelines on posting problems. I guess I did this incorrectly.
I installed v. 113 this morning, and I don't seem to be having the sync issue anymore! Yay!
