View Full Version : Build 113: Uncaught Exceptions and other bugs

In Today View and when in Task View and any other view that includes the Task list, I get the error
"Uncaught exception: java.lang.IllegalArgumentExceptio" every time I click on a Task.

In Go To View -- Contact View Compact I get the error
"Uncaught exception: java.lang.NullPointerExceptio" every time I try this view.

In Today View -- Open Email, I get
"Uncaught exception: java.lang.ClassCastExceptio" every time. Also, it would be useful to be able to sort with newest on top.

All three errors result in AGBB shutting down.

When I click Go To View -- Calendar View My built-in BlackBerry calendar opens and I'm no longer in AGBB.

In One Day View, the screen doesn't scroll. I cannot see items below window edge, but if I click, mouse will open events that are off screen.

Quote, History, and Weather work just fine, but it looks like I'll have to wait for a later build to be able to use AGBB. Not much else is working for me . I have the 8830 World Edition with Verizon.

Thanks,
Linda

Hi Linda,
In Today View and when in Task View and any other view that includes the Task list, I get the error
"Uncaught exception: java.lang.IllegalArgumentExceptio" every time I click on a Task.

In Today View -- Open Email, I get
"Uncaught exception: java.lang.ClassCastExceptio" every time. Also, it would be useful to be able to sort with newest on top.

All three errors result in AGBB shutting down. The email one in the Today View, we are aware of. If you open the mail by pressing the trackball press does the error still appear? I can't reproduce the others and I have an 8830 to test them on. There must be something specific about your Tasks/Contacts.

Do you sync with Outlook?
Do you have any other 3rd Party PIM app on your BB?
Would you be willing to share your data with me privately?

When I click Go To View -- Calendar View My built-in BlackBerry calendar opens and I'm no longer in AGBB.Yes this is true and was mentioned in the Known Issues.

In One Day View, the screen doesn't scroll. I cannot see items below window edge, but if I click, mouse will open events that are off screen. This has also already been discussed, and we're aware that if you are showing tasks in the one day view, and have more than a page full, it will not scroll.

Thanks, Michael. Yes, if I use the trackball, the messages open fine. I just tried my other issues again and am still geting the same errors.

I sync with Outlook. I haven't tried it since installing AGBB this morning. I installed AGBB OTA. Would that create any problem? I have no other PIM app on my BB. I'm willing to share my data with you privately, but you'll have to tell me how.

Yes this is true and was mentioned in the Known Issues.
I'm sorry. I didn't see the Known Issues thread. Is there a link you can share?

Thanks,
Linda

I'm sorry. I didn't see the Known Issues thread. Is there a link you can share? No apology necessary. The known issues are always listed at the bottom of the beta post (http://support.iambic.com/forum/showthread.php?t=34472), below the fixes.

Screen highlights recent messages in the today view and pressing the left hand menu button (exposing the menu ) creates the exception.
I sync with google as my outlook sync to google. trust me it works easier for me this way

regardsThanks. We're not able to reproduce any exceptions by simply showing the menu, but will continue to investigate. Can you tell me exactly what the error message is?

Also we'll see if there are any problems syncing with Google. Are you using the RIM-certified Google sync client for BB?

Thanks.

exception reads:

Uncaught exception:
java.lang.NullPointerExc
ption

None of the recent messages seem to be very "recent" as all are from about 2 days ago.

Using the RIM google sync tool also.

I can collapse and expand the field headings with the trackball,
Can open menu from within the message but not from the headers of RECENT MESSAGES, CALENDAR and WEATHER FORECAST

Will remove and re-install tomorrow if this will help?
regards

glad it works now -- nonetheless these sort of errors should not occurr. Solving their root origin is one of our top priorities at the moment.

OK,
reloaded and seemed to work fine for a few minutes.
started changing views under "Go to view" commands and tried, today, week list, week grid, task, calendar, ok
then went back to Today view and recent messages highlighted as I show Recent messages Calendar and weather only, press menu button and same Uncaught exception error again.
The recent messages are from July 30th and do not appear to have updated themselves to current emails.
Feel it is due to failure of the Google sync?? which under BB main page is current but this does not update through to AG.

I also got the "uncaught exception" error. Trying to reload and see what happens. Any other suggestions? Any word on icons coming?

I installed bb113 on my 8820, os 4.5 and I cannot even get the program to load. When I try to access the program I get the dreaded
Uncaught exception: java.lang.NullPointerException.

Any Ideas of how to get around this?

Hi guys,
We're still working on this. Stand by for more information in one of the upcoming builds.

Got the "Uncaught exception: java.lang.NullPointerException" msg, in calendar (eg. one day view): - new appointment - contact - select contact. At this point i can see only the first 2 contacts (in the second one just the name, no phone number). If I hit "select contact", the message appears (java....). I cant open agendus again and have to reinstall (done it many times already).
Other things to mention:
- Difficult to go to the main "page": logs out with the arrow (go back) key. I have to use the view menu function to go there (view - today view)
- Calendar: graphic interface: MUST be improved!
- Too unstable for everyday used. But I like the program (used it for some time in palm) so i paid the $9.98. Waiting for the 1.0 or a more stable realease!
thks!

Michael,
This may also shine some further light.
While updating my status on facebook mobile I got Uncaught exception:net.nim.device.api.system. Unsuported Operation Exception.

Have not had this happen before so did a reset and all was ok
Only new app I have loaded was AGBB
Thanks

Hi,

First problem is that when I tried to insert the activation code, the menu is looking for my email address. When I enter it, I get a message that indicates an error. If I enter the code, I get the same message.

My Messages always show zero messages

Now, when I click on Agendus, either nothing happens or I get a white screen and nothing else. So I cannot recreate above problems because i cannot start Agendus at this point.

Thanks,

Ron

I was able to activate after doing a reset. Still no messages showing. So far, no white screen. Will see after a few days of use.

To the last couple of posters, we are still investigating these error messages and various issues for some.
