View Full Version : Crash when launching voice commands outside of Propel

Hello All,

I am configuring Propel to launch applications via voice command but when I press the side button on my Centro to launch it outside Propel, I consistently get a crash. I have the side button set to launch voice commands both within and outside of Propel (b/c there really doesn't seem to be an optimal way to launch other than that - for me).

I am trying to basically launch voice commands using the side button from both within Propel and outside it (i.e.- from within other applications)

Here's how I have it set up:

Under Preferences / Navigating inside Propel
Trigger: Side Key
Launch Type: Voice Launch

* I'm O.K. with this set up (it works fine).

Under Preferences / Launching Propel
Trigger: Side Key
Launch Type: Voice Launch

* I consistently get a crash with this.

If I'm doing something wrong, someone here give me detailed instructions on what to do to fix it?

For one reason or another, I have occasionally received a dreaded looping reset- ouch!

Cheers,

George

Hi George,

you have everything set up right. Could you check a couple of things:

1) are you on the latest version of Propel?
2) what error do you get after the crash (dial #*377 after a reset, or use an app like reset dr to log resets)
3) when exactly does this happen - as soon as you trigger the recognition, or after you speak and it is about to launch
4) does it happen for all types of launch (app, dial number, etc)

hopefully that will give us a clue.

thanks

Thanks for your reply!

1) are you on the latest version of Propel?
yes
2) what error do you get after the crash (dial #*377 after a reset, or use an app like reset dr to log resets)
it shows as just a soft reset
3) when exactly does this happen - as soon as you trigger the recognition, or after you speak and it is about to launch
as soon as I press the button
4) does it happen for all types of launch (app, dial number, etc)
it's as soon as I press the button so there is no real chance to tell
hopefully that will give us a clue.
sorry- I know this does not help at all

thanks

that's a toughie then.

two thoughts: could you try flushing the cache (use an app like reset dr) then go to the calendar and try again? I'm wondering if some other apps are just causing the cache to trip over.

otherwise - I'll PM you with my other idea!
