Sync problems

Thanks for the speed of your response and the bad news about the manual, Michael. I was afraid of that....

Now, another difficulty. I also DL the trial Windows desktop version. I have entered some food and exercise in that, and also some on my Centro. But hotsync isn't transferring either one, although I have it configured to sync both programs. (That is, the items I entered on the desktop are not appearing in the Palm version and vice-versa.)

I don't think it's a problem with the sync because my other programs are syncing fine--including Agendus, which I've been using for some years.

What do you have to suggest? I see the trial period on the desktop program is only 3 days, so I need to sort this out asap. If I can't sync, both programs are useless to me. :(

Hmm. I'm not sure why it's not syncing for you. It's working fine (of course) for me. Have you checked the HDM conduit in Hotsync Mgr to make sure it is configured properly?

As I said, it's set to "synchronize the files." So is Agendus, and that sync is working perfectly. (Also other programs, but I thought AGendus might be particularly relevant.) :confused:

Waitaminnit, I just noticed something. On the desktop, in the Profiles box, two profiles are listed with identical names. That shouldn't be possible, should it? I see that the item I entered on the Centro is listed under one of them and the items I entered on the desktop are listed under the other. Same thing on the Centro--two separate listings but under the same Profile name. Shouldn't these items be merged on both the desktop and the Centro rather than listed separately? The profile names are identical and both are dated today. Why aren't they simply merged? :eek:

I have been having hotsync problems with Health & Diet Manager and Vehicle Manager. I have reported these to support. With Vehicle Manager synchronization, I did not lose data, it duplicates data. With HD Mgr I lost my data on the desktop. I may have found a temporary work-around for HD Mgr until it is fixed. I re-downloaded the Palm application, input data on the handheld and then changed the hotsync conduit so that handheld overwrites the desktop. It worked the data is now on both. I assume it works the same if you input data on the desktop and change the conduit to overwrite the handheld. This does not solve the problem of synchronization but for the time being I hopefully will not lose my data. Anyone else out there with similar problems?
