Hi,

Just marked of my first two recurring tasks for Saturday and noticed the following issue.

Task set up to have a due date of Saturday October 11, 2008 at 3:00 A.M.
From the menu selected mark complete.
New task was set with a due date of Saturday October 11, 2008 at 11:00 P.M.

These two tasks are set up as daily recurrences so they should have been regenerated as tasks due on Sunday October 12, 2008 at 3:00 A.M.

==Edit Info In Here=====
Just tested a weekly task due Saturday October 11, 2008 at 3:00 A.M. Marked it complete and the new task was set up for Friday October 17, 2008 at 2:00 A.M. Something is wierd with the task regeneration logic in Agendus for BB at this time. This needs to be addressed very quickly.
==End Edit Info Here.

Is Agendus using its own default for task time? Can a user definition for the default due time be set?

Tried it again today with my recurring daily task.

Task was set to be due on Sunday October 12, 2008 at 6:00 A.M.

New task was generated on Monday October 13, 2008 at 2:00 A.M.

Why is Agendus for BB changing the due time?

Time is not being changed for me.

Are you still running multiple PIM apps? If so, we can't and will not consider your claims which we can't reproduce as legitimate.

This issue is a real hangup for me. I just created a new dialy recurring task due today (Tuesday October 14, 2008 at 6:00 A.M.). I immediatley marked it as complete and the new task showed up on Wednesday October 15, 2008 at 2:00 A.M.

Also - I figured out that when I create a new task the due time is always four hours later than the current time. So if I start to create a new task at 7:10 A.M. the due date shows us as Tuesday October 14, 2008 at 11:10 A.M.

I have a question. What happens when you create a new task in the native app?

Anyway, as I've mentioned we will eventually add the ability to define a default time, of which one of the choices will be "Current Time."

One a side note...before the BB platform I had never even see time on Tasks on a mobile platoform...only in Outlook and other Windows platforms. Personally I never care about the time on a Task, because I rarely complete things at a particular time because of unforseen responsibilities or unexpected urgencies that come up. For instances where something will be done a a specific time, it goes in my calendar rather than my Task list.

I'm not dismissing utilizing the time feature on Tasks. For some it is probably truly useful. I'm only voicing my personal opinion based on how my brain thinks about my Todo list which is based on Date, then Priority and time is irrelevant.

Michael - I totally agree with you on the use of time in a task list. The issue is that if you don't take it in to account on the blackberry and use date as a sort option the tasks with the earlier due time on the same date show up first. If you make the sort due date only and ignore the time that would be great.

The other part of the issue is that each time the task gets marked as complete it seems to move another four hours earlier.

Michael,

I think I know where you need to look on this issue. I created a task in the native Blackberry Task/ToDo application with a daily recurrence. I looked at it in Agendus and all was good. I went back to the ToDo app on the BB and marked it complete and all was good, the next recurrence was at the same time on the next day.

I made another daily recurring task in the native app and marked it complete in Agendus for BB and the new task showed up four hours earlier on the next day. I then went back to the native app and marked the task due tomorrow complete and the new one generated 24 hours later.

I believe the issue is that the Blackberry task app has a time zone associated with it and Agendus does not. I am in the Eastern Time Zone with a device hooked up to a BES server on the west coast if that makes any difference to you.

Any feedback on this in regards to the time zone setting have an effect of the time of recurring tasks being regenerated?

Not yet Mark....we're working on AGBB now. This particular issue has not been addressed yet, though it has been reproduced.

Glad you were able to reproduce it. I am sure you will get it ironed out in time.

Hi Michael,

I think Mark may have found the issue behind the problem for recurring events, i.e. the AGBB may be looking at the wrong time zone.

I and others have posted problems with recurring events (like an annual holiday) showing up on the day after to was supposed to in the calendar views and recently I had mentioned that when I went to Europe and had changed my time zone accordingly, the problem had gone away, but reappeared as soon as I got back and changed to the Eastern Time zone.

I should mention that unlike Mark for me the network time on the BB is also the Eastern Time zone, but I still wonder if AGBB is doing something odd with time zones.

Michael and Rick,

I am not sure what else could be causing these issues with recurring tasks and events. Hope that you can resolve it in a near term build.
