When I create a new task the category I set in preferences as the default is not set in the new task.

It's working for me. Are you certain you saved the preference?

Positive - re did it and it still does not work.

Are you still running multiple PIM apps? If so, we can't and will not consider your claims which we can't reproduce as legitimate.

No - just Agendus for BB now. As you can tell by my increased number of posts I am using it as my daily planning tool on the Blackberry.
