Should the TripTracker checkbox be selected in ActiveSync under Tools-Options-TripTracker in order to facilitate the synchronization to TT Desktop?

Documentation not good in the area of syncing between desktop & PDA.

Short answer - yes. Is yours not showing up in Active Sync?

Yes, it is showing & I checked it now. During sync, TT went to 477/1260 & activesync locked up. Did disconnect & reconnect, TT went to 644/1211 & active sync locked up. Tried again & got 299 unresolved errors for TT. Tried again & during TT sync, activesync displayed disconnect. Tried again & have 92 unresolved items next to TT.
What is up with sync-ing this product??

I am quick to blame things on Active Sync (which I can't stand). I'll see if I can find someone with more insight. :)

I'll submit a tech support ticket rather than keep going here. Thanks for your help.

One quick question. TripTracker (TT) puts it's .DAT file in C:/My Documents folder. ActiveSync (AS) syncs the Files folder at C:/My Document/<folder name>. How does AS know to go to the c:/My Documents folder to sync TT.dat file?

That ranks right up there with asking me how the microwave oven actually boils the water - all I know is that it does. lol I'm sure there's some kind of programming routine in the code that tells AS where to look.

Here is the response I got to your concerns. It opened up a world of possibilities to me!

Unless they travel often, the could just disable the TT client in AS. Even then they could manually transfer the most updated .dat back and forth via Explore in AS.

Or they could use a 3rd party client like GoodSync which has full support for WM devices (I use it myself to keep lots of other folders/files in sync between my PC and WM device, like music, pics, videos, docs, etc.) So each time I connect my device all of my pre-configured files/folders are synced up and identical, even the folder structure. And as a side note, what I've mentioned above is only for syncing with the mobile, you can of course also use it to sync between PCs or to auto-backup in the background.

It's heads and shoulders above what you can do with the "files" client in AS. They have both a free and paid version.
