For the next version of TripTracker, I would like to suggest some enhancements to the expenses functions in Triptracker:
1. I would dearly like the interface of the expense entry editor on the mobile device to be enhanced so that it is finger friendly and facilitates rapid entry while on the go, without having to take the stylus out to add an expense. There is a little freeware application that may be worth looking at for ideas - it has an excellent interface - http://www.sandernijdam.nl/easyexpenses/
2. It would be extremely helpful if there was a tick box to indicate whether a receipt is available for an expense item. If it is ticked, it would also be extremely helpful if the application could generate a sequential number (starting at 1 for each trip) that could be written on the receipt.
3. It would also be very useful to have another field in order to specify whether an expense has been either:
Employee paid (To be reimbursed)
Company paid
or Personal
4. Regardless of which currency is selected as the default currency in the Options, the base currency for currency conversions currently remains as the US$. The base currency should change to the default currency.
5. It would be very helpful if an additional field was added to hold and show the value of the expense in the default currency, using the exchange rates held by TripTracker.
6. It would also be helpful if all the currencies could be automatically updated at once, when initiated by the user, from a reliable web source, rather than having to update each currency manually.
7. Finally, the export to older versions of Excel (2003 and older) still does not work correctly.
Many thanks,
Paul
