I just switched from a Palm Centro to an iPhone a few days ago. Having been a long-time Agendus user, I'm now despondent over the miserable appointment creation system in the iPhone.
I await Agendus for the iPhone with baited breath.
However, since it's in development (and because there are no other good calendaring alternatives for the iPhone out there), I feel obliged to offer some of the things that I love about Agendus that I'd really, REALLY, like to see in the iPhone version:
1 - Snooze. Every day, when I get up, I make my "to-do" list by actually setting a bunch of 15-minute "appointments". They're not appointments with people, usually. They're more stuff like "Check shipping status of new laptop", and "call vet". Often, when these appointments first come up, I'm in the middle of something, so I want to snooze them for another half-hour or whatever. I *LOVE* that Agendus lets me select anything from a few minutes to a few days. (Hey, how about letting us manually edit the list of snooze times, too?). Also, like the Palm version, it would be nice if I could snooze or acknowledge the appointments without actually leaving the app I'm working with.
2 - One-Touch Appointment Creation. Another thing I love about Agendus is that I can set the default appointment duration and advance notification alarm. My Palm was set to meeting times of 15 minutes and alarms 5 minutes before. Then, to make my to-do list for the day, it was: "Tap... enter a title... OK.... Tap.... enter a title.... OK.... Tap... etc.". On the iPhone, it's about a dozen taps. Ugh!
3 - Tap-n-Drag Appointment Time. I really like being able to drag on the timeline at the top of the appointment-creation page to set the meeting time.... or to drag the whole meeting to a sooner or later time.
4 - Please... Kill the Spinning Wheels. True, the spinning wheels for setting the time/date in the iPhone calendar are really cute and were wonderous at the product rollout. Now, I'm busy. Let's use the screen real-estate a little more wisely, can we?
5 - Get Creative with Multi-Touch & Gestures. Although I'd be a very contented customer if you just managed to replicate the Palm version of Agendus on the iPhone, don't pass up the opportunity to make use of the extra technology like multi-touch, or the fact that gestures are part of the iPhone way of doing things. For example, maybe I could move a meeting by touching it with one finger and touching the new location with another. Maybe I could "pinch-zoom" on the day list to zoom in/out on the day's appointment list. Maybe I could swipe my finger to the right on an appointment (like with the mail reader) to access a button to delete/edit/etc.
Good Luck. I really can't wait to see what you folks come up with.
