This product is inferior to its competitors and its predecessors. Relatively speaking this beta product should be free. Make it more like the palm product and I might have an interest. At this point you should be embarressed. Please look at my Ticket ID: PRJ-318438 for additional details.

What product manager made the ludicrous decision to release this product and have the gall to charge for it.

With all that said if you need a beta tester on a viable product, please contact me.

I did. And I'm happy to have done so. And I don't want you as beta tester. Thanks to this nice post of yours you pretty much ruined any possible business relationship moving forrward.

I'm more than happy with my internal QA as far as testing is concerned. So far we received hardly any issue report, meaning the product is rather stable.

Adriano:

Don't take criticism so personally. I agree that your first effort is not anywhere near the quality of the Agendus product I used and so loves on the Palm Treo. While the other writer might have been more gentle in his criticism, you should be more understanding of customers that pay for your product.

Quite frankly, I don't think your boss would like you chastising paying customers.

I agree with the other gentleman, in that your current 1.01 version is nowhere near the complete product that we have grown to expect from Iambic. I'm sure it will become an excellent and valuable tool, but I agree, this effort is NOT worth paying for. You may disagree, but WE are the paying customers. Welcome to the marketplace. It's a cold cruel world.

I wish you well in your efforts and look forward to finding a future version, which is worthy of the Adgendus name.

I think Iambic was very clear and forthright in their discussions of the limitations of this release. If you did a little reading before buying, then there really is no basis for complaint.

However, am I happy with the release? Not really. I want more. But I know that Iambic will deliver more. This is really like Action Names. It still needs to morph into the Agendus we all remember on our Palms.

I bought for the future. And I also bought hoping that with the Apple Store setup, they won't be able to charge for every significant release as they did for the Palm versions. That drove me nuts.

Apple's App Store model is very restrictive from a pricing and delivery standpoint and this makes things very challening for developers like Iambic. While the App Store may change in the future, right now if you buy an app most iPhone owners expect to get all future updates for free. Developers can't offer special pricing for certain customers (like they might for a Agendus for Palm user moving to Agendus for Windows Mobile). There's also the absurdly low price point expectation that has been set by the plethora of iPhone "crApps" so that anything over $10 probably won't sell at all. So all in all, while it is understandable, I don't think it is fair to expect companies like Iambic (or DataViz) to follow the same business model for selling iPhone apps that they did for Palm OS and Windows Mobile apps because it is simply a different world (though I expect it will evolve over time).

I think that over future FREE udpates via the App store, you'll have gotten more than $8 of value. Personally, I'd be willing to pay the same price I did for Agedus Pro for Palm OS for similar functionality on the iPhone, but the reality is that it will take many, many months to rebuild such a feature rich application on a new platform.

Maybe $8 is too much for what it does today, but you need to average out that price against the new features you'll be getting for free over the coming months. As the functionality increases I expect the price to also increase. I too paid $8 for Agendus for iPhone which, after a quick look, I decided I probably won't be launching again until the next update is released because it doesn't do anything for me today other than act as a simple task program. But as a long-time Agendus user I'm looking forward to seeing the app grow and include new feature that will more than justify the $8 price.

In the meantime, I still use my Centro as my primary phone...mainly because there are still so many apps like Agendus that simply have no counterparts on the iPhone yet. But someday (hopefully soon) there will be enough awesome apps on the iPhone (or Palm Pre) to convince me to give up my Centro.

Just my 2-cents and hopefully I haven't said anthing to eliminate me from considerations as a potential beta tester ;-)

Ohmster, Darkon,

thank you for your maningful and constructive comments. I truly appreciate you took the time to read and gain an understanding of where we are at with Agendus for iPhone.

jaquinta,

No one is forced to buy anything. Don't like what you see? You're free not to buy it. That's the perhaps cruel, but fair marketplace which gives the user the chance to choose. I will hold off commenting on the other portions of your post. It's probably better that way :)

Sorry If I disagree, when you go to Apps Store, you do not have option, you have to buy or no, but you can't try. When People like me had Agendus before (Palm in my case), you have a background with the product and not doubt to buy. This is the reason that people don't like "agendus" for Iphone. When you buy Agendus for Palm, you can try it and take your decision, If you like, you buy it. But this is not the case for Iphone.

I know some people are rude with you, I was rude with you, because I can't understand, why Iambic with many years in the market, go at Apps Store with "Agendus" for Iphone. You are a successful company and today I know, how do you feel. But this is the price for successful company, when does not have good product. I love Agendus, but I hate "Agendus" for Iphone. In fact I open the app only two times after buy. Why?. Because It's not have nothing, sorry but It's true.

If you want to figth with your customers, is your decision, close this forum, and go at your particular way. But, If you want a feedback, you have to understand this is not a product than likes to your customers. I don't want to fight, I want a good product, a similar product to Palm Os. You Know What I am say. Relax, back to work, you can do it, Iphone OS is a beautiful plataform, I know you have limitation for Apple, but you are a great company. Understand your customer, we are angry, because we Know you can do it. Sorry if I said somethings than you don't like it, but It's in a good way. Regards.:D

I'm just going to close this thread with one final comment so we are all on the same page: we understood some of you are unhappy. We were expecting this. We gave plenty of explanations, roadmaps, and whatnot. Again, given the time constraints, and the platform limitations, this is what we have been able to accomplish as a version 1.0.

Version 1.0 which personally I'm rather pleased with, granted it is not Agendus Palm 13. I explained that too, etc. so it's useless to keep bashing over and over the same topic.

I think we "got it" -- thanks again.

regards,
