Delete Quote and Day in History

I am looking for a way to delete "Quote of the Day" and "Day in History" from the home screen. Is this possible? Have I missed something very simple?
I really don't have any need or desire to have them.

Unfortunately, the way to remove both from the home screen was broken with the 3.0 update. Watch for a fix...probably 2 updates from now. (Keep in mind that by the time we find problems, one update has already been submitted to the App store.)
