or :
"how I came to use the mixed data source option"

This is my story about chosing the data-source (Outlook or Palm Desktop) but I thought it would be good to share,

This might help folks with same "usage priorities". : use Agendus Windows (for, icons, linking, ergonomy), use outlook agenda but not "shared", use ToDos, and wanting automation from their contacts base when typing a multiple recipients list in an email.

I was using Outlook.
When I installed Agendus Windows, I naturaly chose Outlook as the data source.

Now that I had Agendus 6 on my palm,
I didnot want to use Outlook as a datasource anymore,

because the to-do priority levels are biaised when syncronising with Outlook.
Agendus 6 having that Great TODO View, I wanted to use the 5 Levels 1-2-3-4-5 available with Palm Desktop format, and not only 3 low-normal-high available in the Outlook format

One the other side,
if I used the Palm Desktop as the datasource,
I realised that I would lose the integration function I used most :
- When I type an email,
in the recipients list, I put a few letters,
and one second letter, Outlook has recognised the Contacts for me and underlined if it found the e-mail adress, or launched a pop-up if i need to precise between a few contacts.
- The other side of this function is the "TO:" button. When you click there, you can search inside your contacts

Finally, I understood why this "mixed data source" option was there for in AGW !
It solves the problem..

My data source for contacts is now Outlook (via pocket mirror)
My data source for calendar, todo, memo, is now palm desktop

I use Agendus Windows fully and normally (even for the contacts),
but I know I can also modify, create and search my contacts in Outlook.
When I write an e-mail, outlook does the name recognition for me with my up-to-date-palm conctact !
I use Datebook and ToDos only on AGW.

Here are the technical steps, so that fellows in my situation win some precious time in Chapura FAQ and test :

- back-up your Data on Palm Desktop files
This is an option of "pocket-mirrror" : set the option and sync, then sync again.
Your Palm Desktop data was not up to date, because you used to sync with outlook. Now it is, but this is only a one shot operation.

- uninstall pocket mirror

- re-install pocket mirror, from the palm CD (CD 1 on my m130)
not from the install auto-run software, but directly from the setup.exe on the Pocket Mirror sub-directory.
There you will have an option of which objects the pocket mirror conduit will synchronise.
In my case, I checked "conctacts" and un-checked the 3 others (todo, datebook, memo)
The 3 other object will therefore be syncronised "with palm desktop"

- sync after installation : warning : this is a "first sync" for your outlook contacts since you have uninstalled and re-installed the conduit.
This should be ok however.

- then go to the AGW setting, and choose the data source
"both",
with contact "from outlook"
todo, memo, datebook "from Plam Desktop".

-> you can use AGW normally,
your Outlook Contacts will be allawys up-to-date wth your Agendus-palm and AGW
your contacts will be available in outlook right from the "TO:" zone.
