View Full Version : double entries in AN and Act!

Occassionally, about 3 - 4 times a months, after I syncronize my Visor Deluxe with Act! 2000 using the Act! Link 2.0, I end up with ALL entries in duplicate on BOTH my Visor and my Act! In other words, if I have 500 contacts, I'll end up with 1,000. I have absolutely no idea why this happens.

The problem is two-fold:
1. How to prevent this from happening again.

2. How to fix the database now. What I have done in the past is revert to my last backed-up DB from Act!, but then I lose all the new information. And, no, I don't want to backup before EVERY syncronization.

I do have the preferences in AN set for Act Link

This issue would take several attempts at finding a complete solution. Please email support@iambic.com, they can provide in-depth troubleshooting for this problem. To get your database back to normal, your process is the only way to retrieve the database back without having to delete contacts one by one.

With respect to the removal of duplicate entries, have a look at UnDupe from Stevens Creek Software (http://www.stevenscreek.com/)

There are several ways this can happen totally independent of Action Names. UnDupe has saved me on several occasions.
